I will be interested to see the automatic selections as well given this is the tryout list. There are some impressive players on this tryout list. Wonder how many spots are open.

There were a number of players on the list that I had a very similar reaction with :D

That's the issue with "grandfathering" in all of the players that make it as 10th and 11th graders. Those superstar bantams going into high school don't always remain superstars...other players catch up and pass them by.

Easy fix would be to have tryouts every year. If you made it as a 10th and/or 11th grader, your tryout fee is waived. Problem solved.

Mikan and his 2 goals from last season (both of which were EN)? That's a head scratcher. He's not going back to BSM either.

Well...neither of the BSM forwards who scored 2 G each last season made it so no one can say it's rigged :)

*Stang..is Mikan going back to Breck?

No - he's going to Blaine.

Blaine is a really strange landing spot IMO, how did that come to fruition? Did they rent an apartment somewhere...I can't see them leaving the second largest home in Edina :)

Second home.
Yeah, they have the $ to do that. Blaine is still a really weird choice IMO...if you're gonna go thru the trouble of buying a second home for hockey transfer purposes why on earth way up north in Blaine-tucky?

I don’t think he would have been welcome back by either the team or administration.

But yeah, Blaine is a weird landing spot, as others have commented. Oh well, if the family wants to be hockey nomads, have at it. Not like the Bengals will do much in 5AA this season.

Northern Lakes has two players, including a sophomore defenseman. The Lightning graduated a lot, but the cupboard is not bare up there.

Question: Does anyone know why Zam Plante isn't on the North roster?

Would guess he'll play before/after with either the Steel (USHL) or Wilderness (NAHL)?

That makes sense. Thanks.

Caden Morgan's school listed as Breck. The source saying he is transferring to Edina seems a little shaky. Does anyone have accurate info?

I'm not saying what's posted on the HS Elite page is right or wrong, but keep in mind it wouldn't be the first time that there was something captured incorrectly and also the information the league has is probably from around February when the player would have registered for tryouts (or registered for an automatic spot).

For sure. That's kinda what I figured, just looking for solid confirmation.
