4AA Timing

This is a question I've wanted to ask for a while now but just had never gotten around to asking.
As long as I can remember the 4AA quarterfinals and semis has always been behind the other sections. Is there a reason for this? Or was there a reason at one time (maybe Coliseum availability) and now it is just the way its been so they keep it? Always found it curious

4AA is the old region 3. Before 1975, 3 was the back door for the north. When the privates entered in 1974-75, the mshsl fairy clicked her heels and region 3 became a real region.
The final was played at the St Paul Auditorium, the best building ever for a single game section final, seating 8k, on Saturday night. When the refrigeration equipment broke down and was not repaired, in 1982, the final was moved to the Met, again on Saturday night.
I believe it was the '84 final that was the first one on a Friday night, after the section 1 final. After the Met was imploded it moved to MAR-i-U-cci on Sat afternoon, before bouncing back to Friday night at the Coliseum with the Blaine section.
I guess it's always had a mind of it's own.

I do recall watching back to back North St. Paul vs White Bear Mariner sections finals in 81 and 82. I think both were at the Auditorium, although I was young enough to not really know where I was. Fun times.
