Right now my plans are to be downtown Thursday night and Friday next week for the state tournament. Ive been to the games before but never been out to any of the restaurants in that area during the games before. I assume they get very busy between sessions; do they clear out at all when the night session starts? Any advice on where to go would be appreciated.

Depends on what you're hungry for. Cossetta's is excellent if you are looking for pizza, pasta or sandwiches. Patrick McGovern's is a bit more expensive, but their food is very good, especially their hot turkey sandwich. Tom Reid's has pretty good bar food. All three of those are within a block or two of the X. If you don't mind walking a bit further, DeGidio's has great Italian food and they will let you leave your car there free and walk back to the X. Just ask inside. It's about six or eight blocks from the X. They're all pretty busy between sessions, but the wait is normally not ridiculously long.

If you walk a bit further, the wait times get shorter.

Shamrocks has great burgers but it's about 1.8 miles down West 7th street. Thay have a shuttle bus but I'm not sure it runs for the state hockey tourney.
