It is looking like an 8AA/8A double header tomorrow night in TRF! If they can get that worked out, it will be a great night of hockey. The last time a Moorhead 1 seed, Roseau 2 seed section final was postponed in TRF was 2007. The Spuds had beat up on the Rams twice in the regular season. The Rams won state!! I am hoping for a little of that magic to be left for this year!

We have about 4+ inches of greasy snow and some impressive wind gusts. One topped 40 in downtown Duluth within the last hour. I haven't heard anything about a postponement so pretty sure they're good to go.

Not a flake of snow up in Roseau. The official word has now officially changed. We were told a 4 pm game at the Ralph in TRF, which was going to be great as the Warroad/EGF game would follow. For some reason that now fell through and the game will be played at 7:00 in EGF. Bad deal for hockey fans as many of us would have liked to be able to see both games.

As of about 7:00 am, the snowfall total was around 5" - 6", and they were predicting up to another 3" by the time it ended. The snow has stopped now, but we still have a 20 mph wind blowing the snow around.

A short time ago, I ran into someone at Amsoil in a position to know the following: Apparently the Rock Ridge folks were consulted about whether a postponement should be considered and the reply was something to the effect of, "this is no big deal on the Range. We'll be there."

Sandbaging Stars.There is no way this team was as average as they were all season then had it suddenly click as soon as playoffs started.I have Watched both section game and to me Gentry looks as good as any team I've seen this year.

In their last regular season game, WBL needed OT to get by a god awful 4 win Blaine team that averages getting outscored by over four goals per game. They then needed OT to get past the last seed in the section, a team that lost 14 more games this year than they won. And now tonight. So I can't tell if this is Gentry coming together at the right time (probably some of that) or WBL having the wheels come off at the worst time (probably some of this too). But I don't know that it was sandbagging of any sort.

5-1 Final for Gentry. They looked really good.

I wasn't paying much attention to this, but over the last month, White Bear Lake's PageStat average in those games was a half point lower than their season average. It showed in their final two games.
