As you might expect, fast-paced, back and forth game in this rematch of last year's A title game.

3-0 Hawks. Hill was coming on in the 2nd half of the period. Hawks capitalized after an offensive blue line turnover to make it 2-0. Third goal looked soft from where I’m sitting. Shot through traffic.

The third goal was a deflection by Francisco. He didn’t get credit for the goal yet.

My vote for game of the week.

HM comes back to earn a tie 3-3 with Hermantown. Hill has now been outscored 5-0 in the first period through 2 games. Something to tighten up for sure. Landon Cottingham has been a star so far. Looked really good today (although I didn't see the whole game).

Maybe Hermantown should consider moving up to AA.

To the HTown fan that directed the F-word toward the Hill Murrray stat girls, shame on you.

Hermantown seemed to run outta gas after having to kill 4 penalties in the 2nd period. Both teams had chances to go ahead in the 3rd and in OT. Good game.

A defensive, physical, whistlefest at Braemar. There have been at least 3 post-whistle scraps.

Edina scores with 20 seconds to go in the 2nd to breathe life into a game that has otherwise been dominated by the Red Knights. Benilde looks very, very good. They are clogging up the neutral zone and playing puck-support hockey. They are pounding the young Edina D-corps. A completely different vibe for the team in Red and White compared to last year. It's only 2 periods, but if they can sustain this reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated.

Bobby Cowan scratched for the Hornets tonight. John Halvorson ejected after taking a hit up high and letting the refs know about it... and then continuing to let the refs know about it.

Benilde wins 3-1.

An early statement from the Red Knights.

The Hornets looked disjointed and undisciplined. Giles left the goalie in the net and passed on calling a timeout down the stretch. Have a feeling he was pretty mad at his team. There will likely be at least a few hard skates in the 11 days leading up to the Holiday Classic.

A Sparlimb sighting is always welcome! I assumed he died of Covid, became a basketball fan, or lived out a hippie fantasy and moved to Aspen.
