Yeah, I want to watch both teams, especially MG. It's possible that Jim Erickson will be the announcer, as he's done other Andover games in the past. He is the SCSU radio hockey announcer but also the familiar voice of MN state HS tourney games. I checked SCSU's schedule and they do not appear be playing this weekend.

I’d be sort of surprised if MG doesn’t have a bounce back game

Andover may have forgot the game started at 7PM. Now 3-0.

Good call on the announcing. And camera work is rock solid too. Nice zoom ins, etc.

4-0 after first period. SOG even at 10 each.

EDIT: Removed description of goals as part of it was inaccurate, just watch the youtube stream if u want to see them. The score is on screen so you can scroll quickly through the game, but MG had some nice shots and goals.

Great production on this broadcast. Two professional announcers, multiple cameras, zoom-ins and zoom-outs following the puck in real-time. Switching between cameras in real-time, like someone is in a production truck outside. I think QCTV might be similar to CCX Media (serving nearby Wayzata area) and know what they're doing as a broadcast company as opposed to the game being broadcast by school volunteers.

The production value is so good that my wife walked by, watched for 30 seconds, then asked what college game this is. I told her Maple Grove Technical versus Andover State. Pretty sure she bought it

 It feels like a Friday-night college hockey broadcast with the fast play, the production value, and Erickson on the mic.

UPDATE: 4-1, end of 2nd. SOG Andover 23, MG 17.

FINAL 4-2. SOG Andover 32, MG 28. Andover couldn't overcome the four-goal, first-period lead against MG's stingy defense.

p.s. QCTV showed credits at the end of the game. Two announcers, four camera operators, graphics guy, replay guy, director, production truck people, and others. I think both QCTV and CCX Media are community-funded broadcasters serving their local areas. Both show youtube streams, which is great, because the youtube player is better than most other platforms. Impressive.

FINAL THOUGHT: MG is back. MG coach told the announcer before the game that "anything and everything that could go wrong against HM went wrong." All teams will be 0-0 to start the postseason. Rogers is still impressive to me too in 5AA; should be a great section to watch.

Thanks for posting the recap and game highlights video. I live in Maple Grove, which is served by CCX. The quality of the high school sports broadcasts on CCX and QCTV—both are public access funded by the cities they serve—is just outstanding. It’s great that Erickson does QCTV games. He’s got such a perfect broadcast voice for hockey.
