Not pretty, but the combined GAA of those 4 teams is 1.89, so it’s nothing to get all worried about. They’ve had their chances to score here and there but they just haven’t been able to convert.

STA & Edina scoreless after 1. SOG 6-5 STA.
There's a few scouts watching this one.
Still scoreless after 2. SOG STA 14-12
Things livened up period 3. STA scored 2 goals rather quickly but Edina scored with 4:30 left in regulation, 2-1 2 min. left.

2-1 final. Really fast, even, well-played game. Edina fanned on a ton of Grade A chances.

Gotta agree with you Brodz. It was the game I expected. Thought it'd be 1-0 game. STA's goalie made some great stops as did Edina's netminder.

Any Chance Monticello moves into top Class A Spot ?

Doubtful. Hermantown will drop a bit Saturday with their loss to WBL. Monti will rise a tiny bit--they were 0.47 pts behind Bemidji after Friday so their tie with Bemidji won't do much. It's possible, I suppose--this early in the season the ratings are much more fluid than they'll be in a month or so from now. My gut tells me the top three when I run the weekly update in the morning will be Cloquet/Hermantown/Monticello

Monti had 2 goals called off, both should have been good. Holiday big game, unfortunately no officials behind the nets. Monti should have won the game.
For the most part a fun back and forth game. Refs had way too much to do with the outcome.
Both goalies played great, except for one of the goals that was called off in the 3rd where the Jacks goalie scored on himself sliding back into the net with no whistle puck was in.
It was a fun game to watch and a good test for both teams.
