New season is upon us, what are the major transfers that have occurred this year?

Well one of the Gnetz is at Centennial and the other is at Woodbury. Which is crazy. And they are both on the cover of the breakdown mag. I mean does it even matter anymore? Honestly. The high school league will do nothing about any transfers so at this point it's a dead issue. Free range is the new rule!

The one still at Woodbury tore her ACL and is out for the year, the other one went to "greener pastures" for her final run since her sister was out for the year and the team at Woodbury was now considered "lesser than"

So you’re telling me a twin sister is going to jump schools and leave her sister behind for their senior year? Graduate from a different high school after all their years together? Or will she transfer back after the hockey season is over? Wouldn’t that be something. Would this pass the smell test if this happened on the boys side? As mentioned above, this is one for the ages.

I have to believe there's more to it than this. There's just no way you leave the school your sister is at to play on a "better team" just because she got hurt. You'd just up and leave the team you were on for 3 years? Friends and teammates you've had for years? Obviously we don't know the behind-the-scenes situation because high school sports don't get any good coverage, but maybe there was a parent split or something more genuine than just, "Oh my sister's hurt so now our team is going to stink besides me, so I'm going to bounce."

True. And we're used to the Woodbury kids coming to HM, not Centennial. Maybe it has to do with being seen by college scouts. No idea.

No need to be seen by college scouts, she has been committed to UMD for 2+ years and is on the U18 National Team. She was also playing in Woodbury, not Kittson Central.

Yes, there has to be more than this or other schools would've contacted the MSHSL to check it out. Cent/SLP has basically become the largest high school in the state with their co-op (well over 3000 kids). With a mix of players from both those schools and "move-ins" from Woodbury, Lakeville (jersyey#1), Chisago Lakes (#10), and Rodgers (#13) - last year move-ins on the latter 3 - they have become more like a private school. How many home-grown players will be in the starting 6 on opening night? Kids from at least 6 different/past high schools.

Shakopee's 8th grade leading scorer last year switched to Tonka this year. Legit per MSHSL rules but the rich get richer.

Movement on the girls side is just as if not on par with the boys. I just don't get it. Take the twins that decided HF was the next best thing and transferred there only to have one make varsity and the other make JV. Good job, parents and girls. You played significant minutes as 8th graders and could've done the same again at EP at the Varsity level and yet jump ship to a school where 1 doesn't even make the team and both will end up playing 1/3 the minutes. Make it make sense to me.
