Well, its the Angels and the White Sox. Just like I predicted.
<img src=

They are a lot like the Twins the last few years..only with talent.

I am rooting for our division winning Palehose but the Angles are tough.

They will be especially tough if they keep throwing Garret Anderson the low and in fastball. Either everyone has a bad scouting report or they dont read it.

How about that game tonight? Talk about taking advantage of the situation.

As far as the Yanks go, the big thing I am looking forward to next year is NO Kevin Brown. They do have some shoring up to do and it will be interesting what kind of moves they make in the offseason, not only with the team but the front office and coaching as well. <img src=

It was a weird game. Sox were lucky but good too. Credes hit sure was no fluke.

It will probably come back to Chicago with the Angels up 3-2.

Our Yankees have made some interesting choices regarding free agent pitching signees. Brown was certainly one of them.

I don't really understand the Randy Johnson trade either, but hopefully they get someone in there who can straighten everything back out and get them back on track. Not sure what the fascination is with the Yankee$, other than they have the "best" team money can buy....errr....best overblown ego talent money can buy, but I for one am glad to see both them and the Red Sox gone. While I was pulling for the Red Sox to end the curse last year, it's now ended. They're just another huge salaried team. Gotta love seeing King George's team stopped short again. Maybe another $50-100 million will solve their recent playoff woes, eh?

The creaking sound from the springs as those two bandwagons emptied out (not pointing at Empire or any others in here, btw) was one of the loudest sounds I've heard in a long time <img src="

True, but I think it is apparent that the change in temperature from downtown to the airport and all those hills have finally taken their toll on poor old Lee.

Doesnt know what the fascination with the Yankees is. Maybe I should have asked why so many jump on their bandwagon rather than inquire as to the fascination. I'm somewhat aware of their past and more aware of their present. I don't admire it, but I'm aware of it.

Joe, while I give the Yankees their due for what they did prior to free agency, what they've done since then has been the result of an egomaniacal owner's attempt to continue this dynasty throught the spending of $$$. Nothing more, nothing less. This is why you either love the Yankees (hey, who doesn't like a winner? Oh, those who are sick of them buying championships), or you detest them.

They have three strikes in my book: 1) King George 2) American League team...DH 3) Sheffield

Baseball needs a salary cap ala football. THe only thing worse than the Vikes performance on Sunday may have been the turned in by the home plate umpire during the Houston-St. Louis game later that day. I could really care less who wins that series, but geez how about some consistantcy? I thought the Angels had a legitimate beef, but the Cardinals can almost claim fix. How can you toss LaRussa let alone Walker? That pitch was head high and he calls it a strike? No wonder MLB is fading fast from the National consciousness.

Yah, What do you suppose that was all about?

The pitch was up and in by a lot. No way was it a strike.

He must have said the wrong thing but he didnt show him up too bad. I dont get it.

I suppose the umps are under a lot of pressure too and they just choke every once in a while. Like the Angels pitcher who tags guys out with his glove instead of the hand the ball is in ..instead of making an easy flip for the out. Strange.

I have coached a lot of youth baseball and Ive never seen that. Very strange.

The Astros/ Cards game last night was a classic. What a blow by Pujols.

The longer this goes the better for the Sox.

The best case scenerio for the Sox is to play the Astros after they play a 7 game series.

White Sox will win the series in 6.

I was actually drifting off to sleep waiting for the Astros to close things off, when I was jerked awake by the announcer describing Pujols homer. What a blast, that thing actually landed behind the seats.

I'd prefer to see the Astros win, it'll be interesting to see how they bounce back after last night.

Well, just like I predicted, its the Astros and White Sox.

It could be interesting but I like the Sox. They are in the same form that allowed them to run away and hide the first half of the year.

Their pitching is at least the equal of Houstons and they have better bats Sox in 6.

Hard to go against the Sox right now, but I will anyway. Astros and Clemens in 7 <img src=

I'd of felt better about the White Sox chances if Houston would have had to play tonight taking Clemens out of the first 3 games. Now Houston has Clemens, Pettitte, and Oswalt on 3 succussive nights. I like the fact the series starts in Chicago though and the warm weather seems to have gone the way of summer. Chicago needs both games at home, going to Houston for for 3 straight tied 1-1 or worse could be trouble. I'll cheer for Chicago, mostly because I absolutley hate the Cubs, but pick Houston in 5.

The Sox picked a good time to get hot.

Houston's hitting has been better than I expected, especially last night.

Both closers will have to do a little better.

My prediction of the Sox in 6 looks good. Sounds good too.

Sox are 10-1 in the playoffs. Thats got to be a record.

I could not stay awake for the ending last night. Dozed off in the 12th.

Very entertaining baseball.

I dont understand Houston bunting in the first inning with a guy on second.

Now the Astros need to make it interesting with 2 wins and we go back to Chicago for a clinching game 6.

Sox sweep...just as I predicted.

But seriously, good for them and , I think , good for baseball.

It wasn't the biggest draw but to have 1 team that has never been there and the other who hasnt been there in 45 years is good.

2 good teams.

It was an entertaining series too, all the games were good. Houston couldn't buy a hit, Chicago got one just about everytime they had to have one. I thought Houston would win, but Chicago was on fire the past few weeks, something like 17-1 to end the year.

So much for the Stros winning. It was Chicago's year. Houston should be fine next year, though.
-------------------

Catholics have churches, fat people have Wisconsin, and I have the Pawtucket Patriot brewery.- Peter Griffin
