Minnesota Twins

Anyone got a perspective on how the Twins are going to do this season. I think they will have a hard time competing with the white sox and indians. They have a great rotation with Liriano or Baker getting the 5th spot. The twins have to score some more runs. I expect the Central to finish this way...
1. Cleveland 98-64
2. Minnesota 92-70 Wild Card
3. Chicago 89-73
4. Detroit 81-81
5. Kansas City 62-100
I would love to hear some insight into the upcoming season.

I highly doubt the Wild Card will come out of the Central Division. My guess is BoSox/Toronto in the East or Texas/Oakland in the West.

Oh, almost forgot. NY Yankees World Champs '06 <img src=

The Central is the toughest division this upcoming year. Red Sox are the odd man out in the East, Toronto is a year or two away they will be good but look at the O's from last year. No doubting the Yankees will finish #1, I think the Central will surprise a lot of people this year.

I think the Central will finally produce the Wild Card. Don't remember the last time that happened, but it was awhile back. The Twins will be competitive, they need some things to fall into place to win the division or the wild-card. Everyone needs to be healthy, and some people need to come up with big years, specifically Mauer and Morneau.

I'm excited. I think if nothing else the team will be in till the end. We have the arms to compete with anybody, and would be awfully dangerous in a 5 game series with Santana throwing twice.

AL Central-Chicago White Sox
AL East-New York Yankees
AL West-Oakland A's
Wild Card-Minnesota Twins

1st Round
Twins over Yankees
A's over White Sox

A's over Twins

A's win the World Series

Now take this with a grain of salt (this is the same guy who claimed big years from Arizona and Baltimore last year <img src=

I know. (I know all)

They will be better because they don't have Joe Mays. But the AL Central will be better too, so the effect on the record might not be noticeable.

<img src=

I also think that the Twins will come out of the central division but I don't think that their playoff run would be very long. I would love as much as any Minnesotan to see the Twins win the WS but I just don't think it will happen next year. I don't think it will be their pitching that will hurt them but they need to get their pitchers a little more run production. I have heard some people say that softball is about how many runs you score and baseball is about how few you give up, while this is usually true, when your pitchers are giving up 2-4 runs per game and your team isn't winning then I think it is time to start focusing on getting some more big bats in the line-up. Does anybody know who the Twins picked up in free-agency/trades during the off-season? I can bet that there is no big slugger in that mix.
