I didn't want to put this on the main page yet, maybe after the season's over, but at the state tournament on Friday the anti-private school people behind me went off about how rich these kids are becuase it costs so much more to go to Hill-Murray than the University of Minnesota, so I looked it up. University of Minnesota - 8,622/year Breck - 19,425/yr Blake - 18,100/yr St. Thomas - 13,125/yr Benilde - 9,510/yr Holy Angels - 9,300/yr Holy Family - 9,210/yr Hill-Murray - 8,800/yr others: St. Cloud Cathedral - 6,500/4,800 for parish members Rochester Lourdes - 6,095/5,085 for parish members All these numbers were from the respective schools websites. Cretin, The Marshall School, and Totino Grace gave no tuition information I could find. So even though Hill-Murray is more expensive than the U of M, a whole $178/yr, it's the cheapest private school in the cities which surprised me.

marshall i beleive is in the 5k area? but for more there is discounts and for athletic players there are discounts too

Well Im in no way rich and I would consider very few of my many <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/happy.gif ALT=":D"> friends to be rich either. Guess its just where you want to spend your money. Now those blake and breckers, thats a different story.

The U of M actually costs more along the lines of $16,000 when you add in room/board and books,etc. And whats more, they offer ZERO financial aid for the average student. edit: I looked a the U of M website, and the $8,622 includes fees, so i took that part out of my first statement in this post. hill is not the cheapest private in the state. st agnus high school in st paul is much cheaper. i think its about 3,000. they just don't have good hockey - that's why you didn't think of them. cretin is about $ 8,000/year. 50% get some sort of academic scholarship.

I don't know if this is a fact, but I heard Shattuck is around $30,000. Plus hockey is another $3000. Can anyone confirm?

All are Catholic except Breck which is Episcopallion; Marshall and Blake have no religious ties. lots of kids at CDH/STA/Hill/AHA don't follow a Catholic lifestyle - I'll tell you that from expirience.

Well yeah, Between the weekend parties after the games and lavatory pow wows and little to no scriptural knowledge among many students parents and teachers that pretty much describes my old Catholic high school as well! Lots of mass though! us catholics dont like to focus on the bible as much as our crazy protestant friends. which is weird becaus "we" compiled it. yeah, cretin (CDH) was known as Chemically Dependant High when I went there. not sure if it still is, though.
