Orono beat Wayzata 5-4. Score doesn't really indicate the flow of the game. Orono was up 3-0 early but Wayzata was able to battle back with 3 goals to tie it at 3 after 2. Orono came out strong in the 3rd scoring 2 goals to go up 5-3. The refs gave Wayzata a chance to even things out giving Orono 4 penlties (2 or 3 very questionable calls) to Wayzata's 0 in the final minutes. Wayzata was able to capitalize on a 5-3 powerplay to get it to 5-4. Orono hit the pipe with an empty net and missed the net with a rolling puck by inches in the final minute.

BROOKLYN PARK UPSETS HOPKINS 5-2!! Brooklyn Park took it to the Royals and held Fink to no goals. This puts Hopkins in a very tight place. They will have to beat the loser of Osseo/Maple Grove in order to stay alive. They have lost 4-1 to both of these teams in the past two weeks.

So tomorrow's matchups:
Maple Grove vs. Osseo
Orono vs. Brooklyn Park
Wayzata vs. Armstrong/Cooper

How many people are still hurt on Hopkins, was fink playing D., and why did they get outplayed so much????

Perry is a second year....he's straight, pretty well above average, not a HUGE threat though.

BP/Hopkins upset

Daddy, they didnt get outplayed really. Olson for BP played well. A nice bounce back after getting lit up and pulled in the Orono game earlier in the week. Fink was playing back on D for some of the game(he played most of it). Brooklyn Park was just able to capitalize on their opportunities and Hopkins wasn't, it was that simple.

Well MNLIGHT, good luck in regions......BP basically sealed the deal for you because I dont think you guys will lose to them. What are you thoughts on the MG VS. Osseo game?

Yah, well we will see. Gotta' take it one game at a time and not under-estimate anyone. We beat them 7-3 on Monday this past week, so it should be interesting. Any team on any given night as I like to say.

I think Osseo will give Maple Grove a good game tomorrow night. Will be a fun game to watch. Best of luck to everyone!

Osseo/MG HUGE upset!

Congrats to Osseo!

So Orono and Osseo in the championship next Saturday. Both teams now gaurenteed a seed into regions.

Maple Grove vs. Hopkins on Tuesday I believe...loser of that game is done.

Edited by: <A HREF=

Hey mnlight. We won our district so we play the #3 from yours. Who do you think it'll be?

Well, either Orono,Osseo(Both now gaurenteed a seed) or most likely Maple Grove or Hopkins which ever one wins that game Tuesday. There have already been 2 huge upsets so far this playoffs in D3, so dont look over BP,Wayzata or Armstrong. That's a tough question. Could still be anyone.

I would say either Maple Grove or Osseo. I got a feeling Maple Grove will rebound well and possibly knock off Osseo. IF MG makes it to the backdoor game, and Osseo loses to Orono, the game to be at will be the Osseo/MG game.

One of the Markgraf twins. #11 or #16 not sure which one. They look identical.

Dan Markraf got the 3 on 3 game winner-Sullivan had the puck at the point and Kray drove to the net bringing all three MG players with him. Dan Markraf then trailed the play and got a pass from Sullivan in the and Markraf buried it.

Orono Vs Wayzata

MNLIGHT you sure didn't give Wayzata much credit. After battling back from 3-0 against your tough team who plays 10 kids or so, you think they deserve some props. Then to imply the refs made the difference is the voice of a true sportsman. Blame it on the refs, I failed tos ee one ref score a goal on your team. It also seems your team scored atleast one power play goal, nobody is blaming the refs for that.

Wayzata vs Armstrong

Wayzata beats Armstrong 5-3 in triple overtime, they advance to play Brooklyn Park.

"Orono beat Wayzata 5-4. Score doesn't really indicate the flow of the game. Orono was up 3-0 early but Wayzata was able to battle back with 3 goals to tie it at 3 after 2."

You can't be serious about the penelty thing! Orono got 4 penelties in the last 5 or so minutes and they were VERY VERY questionable calls and Wayzata didn't get any. That one penelty the kid got checked from behind, he stands up and pushes the kid who hit him, very lighty(the kid didnt even move) and the kid that gets checked from behind gets the penelty!! And then, they call a delay of game for a kid on Orono covering the puck in front of the net when a kid on Wayzata was laying on it in the crease. Wayzata scored on that 5-3 making the 5-4. I'm not blaming anything on the refs here, we won. That's all that matters, score sure doesn't. I'm just making the point that Wayzata was given an ample chance to make it a game in the closing minutes. If you witnessed the Osseo/Armstrong game before that, the same thing happened there. Armstrong was playing cheap hockey, but Osseo was getting penelties. It didn't make much sence, but the scoreboard read Osseo 6 Armstrong 0.....Maybe that had something to do with the calls. You got a good team boss. Definitely much improved from earlier in the year. I would like to see you guys get a seed into regionals. Don't look past Brooklyn Park though. They are hot. And, if I'm correct you gave Maple Grove a 1 goal game the last time you played them as well right? Well best of luck.

And the whole thing about playing 10 players is extremely false. But I'm going to start out this way. How many teams at bantams do you have? 5? How many players is that trying out at the bantam level? 85 give or take? How many did we have?29. It is clear that the bottom is going to be weaker than the top when you have about 30 kids try out. The top 2 lines play a little more than the 3rd sure. But, if you look at all the top teams in the state they do they same thing. Osseo is pretty much the only exception I can think of the top of my head. I'm sure there are a few others, but when it comes to when your season is on the line. Coach's do what it takes to win. There is one D on my team that doesn't play much, I'll give you that. But it's bantam hockey, this isnt squirts. That #14 on your team sure played alot more than others as well there boss....
It's all good<img src=
