If he was playing bantams, Jensen from Rogers, playing for Elk River Varsity as a 9th grader. Pryor from Hill Murray is a good player also, already has a verbal committment to UofW as a 9th grader.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ngles96>Mr Dangles 96 at: 1/2/06 1:51 pm

Sullivan is a solid offensive defenseman. But he isnt a top defender.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... LIGHT39 at: 12/29/05 2:07 pm

Joey Gustafson is not a top defensemen. He's probably the 4th or 5th best on his team. The kid is just way too lacksadaisical. Doesn't seem like he even wants to play

Joey can be good when he wants to be. Otherwise he seems to be a lazy player.

gustafson can be good if he plays his position. he is strong in front. most of the time he thinks too much about offense when his team has plenty of it. he isn't one of the best in the state by any means. ben montgomery is very good solid in front he is a beast and quick laterally it's hard to get around him

Joe Gaustad out of Maple Grove is in the top 5 in the state-Made it to St.Cloud last year for Advanced 15's, made the top 54 in the camp (out of 102) as a Defensemen. That can pretty much show you right there that he is solid. The kid can flat out dangle, and you can not beat him on a rush. He has size, speed and stregnth. Watch out for this kid in the future.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... ngles96>Mr Dangles 96 at: 1/2/06 1:53 pm

I want to hear more about this kid's verbal committment to the Badger's. Did he just say he was playing for Wisconsin and that is good enough? My 9 year old made a verbal committment to the Goph's but Lucia won't call back.

<a href="http://www.insidecollegehockey.com/7Arc ...

Thats the link..go under the Wisconsin part and you will see Nick Pryor, graduates 09. Gaustad I believe did not play on the summer team, most of the big guns on Maple Grove did not play. He played on the 90 Jr. Gophers though this summer. And yes Aaron Ness is VERY good. Jensen from Rogers is also a stud.

I can see where you are coming from with Mattson, but I dont think he compares with Gaustad, Jensen and Pryor, no way. Doering is solid, no standout though.

If you had to make a list of the top 5 D, who would be on it? Do you expect any of these kids to make it all the way to St. Cloud for Select 15's?

Jensen,Gaustad and Pryor are all 90's. So its too late for that. But Jenson and Gaustad did, not sure on Nick Pryor.

The Best Bantam defenseman I have seen is Brent Putney out of White Bear Lake. The kid is really something. By far the most offensive defenseman I have seen this year. Brendan Baker out of Edina is very, very good as well.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Doerring and Mattson

by mnblds88
They both are good. Both see the ice well and make great plays offensively. I have played with both of them. Doerring has a better shot and is better behind the net. He needs to get stronger. Mattson can rush the puck better but does not like physical play. I think they both can make Selects out of District 6 along with Leddy and Lobombard. Fisk told me that Doerring had 2 end to end goals against Orono....is that right MNLIGHT? They are one of the better combinations in the state though.
