I hear ya on that one. I posted a thread days ago asking the same question.

District 8 needs a better way of reporting scores.

Also it would be great if Hudson could be included in the playoffs. They compete the entire year, go by the rules of Minnesota Hockey, yet are not able to compete in MN or WI at a Regional, District or State level.

Just venting my son's frustration.

Maybe you should contact the TC district I know they are looking for more teams maybe something could be worked out plus you would not have to travel as far. I know that at one time River Falls played in the TC district.

Edited by: <A HREF=

sorry, no info for D8 scores.
Yes, Stickstats does not update very often.
I would think that 'hendy' would have some info, he plays D8 PWA for Dodge County.

HockeyDad9 -

How does that work with Wis age rules and Minn age rules?

Just wondering - they aren't the same, are they?

And since you were playing across borders all the time, did your team manager have to fill out a USA hockey Travel permit for each game??

We are "yearly renewable guests" of District 8. No need to fill out permits.

As for age differences - I hope that you are aware that MN is the ONLY state or union that is not with "birth year" age.

Just think of that - The rest of the WORLD uses birth year yet MN continues to use 1/2 year ages. I can't figure it out, can you?

So the ages are different by a 1/2 year. And Four years ago when MAHA switched the age requirements, you had kids that could have played Bantams for 3 years instead of two.

I agree the age thing should be unified across the board, but IT ISN'T. And Canadian teams complain about the same thing when they come down for tournaments or games. They have to be younger yet, because they don't have the same age groupings as US.

So you really aren't a part of District 8 (you just play some games against them). If you want to play with the Minnesota kids, move. It ain't that far.

OR sign your kid up under a false address from someone in MN.

Actually if you look at the rosters of NHL, USHL, WHL, etc... you will find that many of the better players are starting to come from other parts of the country.

That is not to say the MN Hockey is not good, it is GREAT!

I just wish for the better of the whole, MN Hockey would consider the change to "birth year".

Not here to bash - far from it! IT JUST MAKES COMMON SENSE, doesn't it?

Eagan beat Lakeville North 3-1 with an empty netter. Wow it was a great game to watch at the end. Lakeville North took a shot with about 3 minutes left and it crept through the goalies legs and landed right on the line, and they had a couple great chances after that. I saw the first period of the Rochester-CG game and it was completely dominated by Roch, although the score was only 1-0 after 1. Dodge County beat Hastings 5-1 and Hastings goalie was absolutely amazing, he robbed DC on about 3 breakaways, and made a ton of other great saves. Wasn't able to see any of the Woodbury-Lakeville South game but it sounds like it was a great game.
