If you had to make a decision, what would you do, Bantam or JV?

I would play bantam, and then play JV when my two years of bantams were over.

Bantam - more games, good competition, lots of playing time, age appropriate in the locker room.

Back in the day, I had a similar choice... I went JV and personally wished I could go back and play my second year of bantams.

If the HS coach thinks you might get some varsity time (which I am sure he is selling to you like a good coach would) that makes your decision that much more difficult. Good luck and don't burn bridges.

My son played JV this year as a first year Bantam and had a great experience. Played lots and developed.
