EP was the early pick at the start of the year and it looks like they are continuing to improve and distance themselves from the rest of the field. Two blowouts against decent teams and 4 and 6 goal wins over two very good teams from Stillwater and Wisc AAA. Darn impressive.

Does anyone know how many Peewee aged kids Eden Prairie has? They obviously have a fantastic program, but I'm curious to know whether its their numbers or their resources to play year round hockey that separate them from other programs? Thanks in advance.

EP has 1 A team, 2 B1 teams, 1 B2 team and 3 C teams at the Peewee level.

They are strong, but this year is sort of an abberation. This team has a set of twins on it that are their top players (along with another set of twins) and another top player that moved in from Mtka this year. An excellent goalie also helps. I also think that they benefit from running two B1 teams with even talent so that more first year PW's are exposed to a higher level of play so that they are ready for the A game in their second year of PW's. Some of the traditionally strong programs (EP, Edina, Wayzata, WBL) are doing this annually. Most of the rest don't have the numbers. I'm guessing that they get about 90 kids for PW traveling tryouts.

If Lakeville and St Cloud didn't split into two A teams this year, they could give EP a run. Right now, I think Edina, Wayzata and Lakeville So. can beat them on the right day, but it hasn't happened. Thay are a team with 15 strong skaters, not just 7 or 8 like many other A teams.

our association has a "fair play" policy in place that dictates equal play for all. both goalies play the same amount of hockey and the "third" line right wing plays just as much as the "first" line center. having watched the # 1 ranked peewee team play 3 times this year, it appears they do not have such a policy in place. this could certainly affect the outcome of any given hockey game.

I can tell you that from what I have seen they play all three lines. As far as the goalies I can't tell you but the one that I saw play was very strong.

Well of course, they are going to have off nights here and there, every team does. They only beat Eastview 4-3 once.

The other goalie (not backup) is Kyle "Seldom" Beaton.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... GOPHERP at: 1/30/06 11:24 am

I have a prediction. Eden Prarie will lose in the state championship.

Do you think Eden Prairie will get to the state tournament?
I heard they have one line that plays 75% of the time, and one defenceman that plays the whole game.

Come on EGOPHERP, I would assume the E and P are for Eden Prairie, so maybe you can answer that question.

Eagan, and someone already used the "W" for wildcats so I made it a "P" for putty cats.

Egopher,

You should know they play all 3 lines and 6 defensemen since you were a part of that 10-0 thrashing they gave you up here in Duluth! I heard that there were some players on your team that did not want to go out on the ice anymore because they were getting there butts kicked around.

EP goes 15 deep that is why they are the #1 team in the state. It is called DEPTH! Why would they only play one line and one defensemen?

I heard from some guys from Edina you guys called your scrimmage with them yesterday. What happened?
