When Is Hockey TOO Much?

When does the hockey season become too long?? Most teams start their season toward early October and depending on how they do in the year may go to mid March. If I counted correctly that's 6 months of hockey. Some teams never have had a full weekend off of hockey or more then a 3 day break at one time (maybe only getting that once or twice). Do you think this is too long, or is it just right, or should it be longer?

I think it should be longer, just because the season seems to go by so fast always. We always have the Summer months for a break, so I don't see why we need them during the season.

What's the real issue? Time commitment? That's one of the benefits offered by C-league vs. a travel-level hockey team. Travel hockey can be too much of a commitment for some families...C-league (at least in Wayzata) is an option that allows kids to skate, compete, and still have a balanced life re: religion, other sports, etc. The duration of the season is the same...but the weekly time commitment is less.

Just a thought.

You can never get sick of hockey its so much fun I mean you get to take peoples heads off by drilling them, Its played on ice you can play it year round, and its the sport that you have to be the most physically fit to play it. no other sport even comes close to being as fun and exciting as hockey
