Does anyone know how Class A and AA teams are determined. Seems like it is a clouded issue.

It is solely based om enrollment, however a single A school can opt to play "up" in AA.

One thing to keep in mind is that not alot of small schools have hockey programs. Therefore the smaller 1/2 of the schools with hockey are much bigger schools than the smaller 1/2 of basketball or football for example because virtually all schools have these programs. It is also why hockey only has 2 classes as opposed to 4 or 5 like some other sports.
