I love it when the wadena players and fans think they are so much better than they really are. I congradulate the m for a good season and the trip to state but i have seen play and they are not that good compared to the rest of the teams in the tourny. sorry fellas sometimes the truth hurts!

I think we should just wait until about 4:30 on Wednesday to answer this question. Too bad a simple question gets turned into a bashing contest. ssphockeyfan, I've posed this question to you many times, and you continue to ignore it: Who has SSP beaten this year that makes them so powerful like you make them out to be? Wadena didn't face any participants in the Tournament field. Neither did SSP. SSP has faced better competetion overall, but they didn't win any games against great teams. Both teams come in unaware of what its like to play under the lights and State atmosphere. I think its a fairly even matchup. If Timm is on his game, he's tough to beat. Sounds like the SSP goalie is the same way. Good luck to both teams. 5-4 WDC in OT. Scheids (A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

SSP quality wins... SSP 4 Roch. JM 2 SSP 3 Cloquet 2 SSP 6 Tartan 0 SSP 7 Tartan 6 SSP 4 Mahtomedi 0 SSP 3 Red Wing 0 SSP 4 Eagan 1 SSP 9 St. Thomas 1 *No real power houses but very solid wins. I believe each of these teams were ranked in the top 20 at some point this year in either AA or A, although I dont think any were in the top 10.

STA ranked #67 Red Wing #63 Cloquet #50 Mahtomedi #46 Wadena is #64 Yes, those teams are decent. But I wouldn't call them all quality wins. My only point was to say that SSP hasn't proven themselves to be this Powerhouse that some people make them out to be. Losses to Woodbury (#57), Mahtomedi, CDH (#61). Tied NSP (#82)! Past rankings don't really mean much at this point. Heck, Fergus began the year in the top 20 of some polls. Scheids (A legend in his girlfriend's mind.)

I'm taking Wadena over South St. Paul and there will be three "northern" teams in the Class A semi-finals. I'm going out on a limb with the South St. Paul/Wadena gig, and I know SSP had a tougher schedule. It will be interesting to see what transpires. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat"> But what do I know? .... I've only taped nearly 1000 games in the past 14 years.

I saw SSP a couple times this year. They're a decent, solid team, but certainly in NO position whatsoever to be overlooking ANYBODY. I'll pick SSP, but it should be a close one either way.

if WDC had the schedule SSP had they wouldnt be in state they would be 10-15 haha. they would have gone no where in the playoffs!!!! well when SSP wins an awsome game u guys will say to your selves im a 30 year old loser and some 16 year old knows more about high school hockey than me!!!!! just like everyone should have been doing when they picked red wing over SSP haha i told you morons who would win and again with wdc they are gone haha!!!!!!!!

Their lack of schedule makes them one of the most intriguing teams in the tourney for me. I remember Fergus getting zero respect in their first couple of visits, then ended up being a scrappy competitor. Who knows, maybe they're tough as hell. No name schools, but they sure pounded the hell out of most of the teams they played.

rams, pretty much everyone knows WDC plays a cupcake schedule. Nothing new there. I just decided against stating the obvious, but thanks for adding more information to those who may be unaware. Yes the teams they play aren't very good, but not only did they beat those teams, for the most part, they KILLED them. You're knocking them for only beating a team 2-1 in a section final game? Why? LF is a huge rival, both teams were playing in the biggest game of their respective lives, and Wadena prevailed, showing for the second game in a row that they not only can whoop up on teams, they can win tight, close games. Yes they are good enough to be there. They won the Section 4 title, which is THE ONLY REQUIREMENT to get to state. It doesn't matter if they played a weak schedule or played in a weak section like most people feel. They accomplished THE ONLY REQUIREMENT put in place by the MSHSL to reach the Xcel Center.

i think no matter the outcome of this game wadena will gain some respect...just because they may not win does not mean they cant gain any respect from fans all over the state. i also think that coming into the tourney i would much rather be on wadena's team than ssp as wadena is a huge underdog, sometime there's nothing worse than a team that has nothing to lose!<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/pimp.gif ALT=":hat">

WDC has a bunch of darn good players that have played and won together for a long time. If SSP comes in overconfident, they may be in for a surprise, WDC will find a way to win and finally get some of the respect they deserve.

been awhile since this team was tested in a state tourney.It was in the peeweea state. They do suck they lost to centenmial, white bear lake and moorhead that year all by one goal. Im sure they lost it since they lost peluso.NOT! Im not picking them to win against everybody but theyll bring a darn good game to everyone. youll be saying the refs suck if wadena wins. Youll be they one in search of respect, Oops you already are on here.

The Packers will be making their 28th Appearance not 23rd, but yes still no championship to show for it.... But that is still quite an accomplishment. And dont say that the SSP fans and especially the team has no class... this is just one stupid fan... I've seen SSP play a few times this year and have played against them back in my day... They have always been a classy team. As for Wadena, i'm confident they will earn respect one way or another in this game.... I think personally they will lose in a close game but then go on to win at least their next game in the tournament. Good Luck both teams... Fans have some class
