virginia bantam A

Post by hockeyman15 »

I thought Virginia played a good year, and had a good fight in regions. Did anyone else see them play?

they were great

Post by puck4ever »

yes i saw them play, and yes they had a great season and regional tournament. they lost to duluth east in a game that put the winner in the state tournament. they beat east the night before fyi. duluth east had something like 150 kids try out for bantams, where virginia had in the neighborhood of 30 or 40 at max. congrats to the coaches on another great season, they know how to put outstanding teams together, and make the most of what they have, hats off to them.

HBK 15, you should care, becuase this is the group of kids thats gonna be mopping the ice with your bluejackets in a couple of years in the high school ranks.

haha

Post by puck4ever »

haha yeah so do i, virginia will have more skill and better players, but i forgot to factor coaching in there. too bad that all those kids are gonna be such a waste when they get in the hands of keith and friends. hopefully there is a coaching change by then. then watch out, virginia will be for real, and you cant doubt that.

dominated?

Post by puck4ever »

they did dominate in peewees, but i didn't they dominated virginia in bantams, but i could be wrong. all i know is that if virginia had decenzo as coach, they would have been representing 7a at state this past year.

how far did the hibbing bantams get this year?

you are probably right about this year, but i was talking to some of our bantam kids and they did say that virginia's bantam team had a couple kids that could raise the puck so i guess virginia's bantams are getting better over the years

clever

Post by puck4ever »

ha that was pretty clever, but if i was right about virginia bantams being better than hibbing this year, and they only had a few kids that could raise the puck, does that mean no one on hibbing could raise the puck? but they do know how to pass now, thanks to robillard, he has done an amazing job in his first two years, i cant wait to see what the future holds. especially if he gets to coach the high school ranks some day.

response

Post by hockeyman15 »

Yes i totally agree with you, robillard has done an amazing job with these kids. they were the first team in three years to score 9 goals on Duluth East. they also one the Greenway tourny, and got runner up in the VFW tourny. they deserved to go to state. they went farther in regions than hibbing did to. hibbing never made it to the sunday games. They beat GR 5-6 times they played , the first lose was in the beginning of the year and by one goal!!!

virginia only got into regions by one cheap goal. hibbing was obviously the better team...they tied rodchester north( who was ranked #1 at the time ) they tied moorhead (who was #1 a the time ) and beat almost every ranked team that they play. hibbing doesnt even send there stats in and they are still ranked like 20...virginia does and they arent that high..
