The problem is they'll lose the unreplaceable Jarred Hummel on D.

How many will leave if they win?

Last time AHA won at state they lost several players early Hagemo comes to mind. I could see this happening again. It is the price you pay as a hockey magnet school. The kids are looking to get to the next level. Heck, that's why they go there in the 1st place.

You have to be kidding. He is so overrated. All he is, is big. So what! He dumps the puck as much as anyone. If he could handle the puck, he might be decent. And what is the deal with Hummel having to be the last guy of the ice with his little getting off the ice show.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p074.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... lappy11 at: 3/4/05 10:40 am

"

I can understand where your coming from because Hummel isn't a loud physical player. His speed isn't extremely impressive, either, and I think he might have to muscle up more for post-high school. It's just that the press keep bringing up his +/- average, and at some point I think he has to get some credit. Some people next to me kept talking about how HA hasn't been tested and a general lack of competition. I would offer the same old adage about winning, like they did last night to a Jefferson squad who were taking it to HA. I guess we'll find out soon enough should HA make it to the final. Whomever they play, Hummel's line will likely have to play 1-2-1-3.

Holy Angels is my # 1 team heading into next year. This is assuming Barribal and Mattson stay. They have some great forwards returning and Keaton Smith is solid in net. Not sure about their depth on D, but I am sure they will be fine.

Is it possible for anyone to go to a private school without being accused of being recruited? It might be possible that kids choose to go to a private school for the quality of education along with athletics. Besides, the majority of the kids who will make up next years team enrolled as a freshman and worked their way from JV to varsity including Jay Bariball.

Slapshotbg,
I agree. I see a HUGE difference between private freshman enrollee's, and senior transfers. The are not even close to the same.

I for one am not a big fan of private schools, just a personal preference. But, Holy Angels has built a great hockey reputation, and it is safe to say that people who go there are looking for a good hockey program and a good education. I don't think it is fair to say that all these kids are being recruited and that is their sole reason for attending.

who cares. private schools should all be in 1 section and battle it out for state, one section in A and one in AA. or put off of the privates in AA. F the private schools.
