what do u guys think of this kid- good skills but questionable toughness...in a scrimmage against south st. paul last year ran into the boards and got carried off on a stretcher for no reason. To go along with this he wears shin gaurds on his wrists. I think his career will be short lived now that his family is moving to france

Elk River 2005 winless in the tourney

word is that he was forced to leave orono instead of actually volluntarily transfering because he wouldnt listen to the coach of orono todd weisjon. this furiated weisjon and pretty much left taylor no choice but to leave

That's a load of crap. Taylor and his family had a tremendously difficult time making their decision and Todd certainly wanted him to stay in Orono. I've been on the ice with this kid and he is extremely coachable and a gentleman.

He is a hell of a player. And still has 2 years left. I wouldnt really question his toughness. He played a very good defensive game in the state tourny. But if this story isnt true about his coach he really should have stayed in a public school.

Taylor Matson is awesome. I have never seen him back away from anything. In my world he is at the top of the list for true age sophmores. he is a second half 88 and plays in the appropriate grade. Some dont. Antone who wouldnt want Matson is crazy.

Skating
Size
Aggressive
Shot
Smart

Does anyone think Trebil would let him take a leadership role without being very deserving? I dont

Taylor Matson is a hell of a player and a hell of a kid....He did just as much for the stars as any other player on that team and was a big contributer in making it to the state tourney and winning it. He could probably go alot of places next year but we can only hope to watch him play 2 more years of high school hockey at the Academy...and hockeyscout you are a piece of sh*t questioning his toughness...he is strong mentally and physically and works harder than any other kid ont he ice....

just my 2 cents

Any talk about Taylor not having the necessary toughness is a complete joke. Consider him and the other late 88s who made the MN Selects 16s & 17s both years while competing in one of the strongest fields I can EVER remember in selects (that group includes Mueller, Carmen, E. Johnson, etc). Mattson, Levine, Christian & Louwerse (forgive me if I have forgotten someone else) have been able to stay with the 88 selects crowd - does anyone think they could have done that and NOT be "tough" enough?

Hockeyscout wasn't simply asking about it, read the post again Breck Gold. Don't insult our intelligence with your pathetic defense of a pathetic & mean-spirited post.
