UMD recruits

This just in- UMD recruits. How could they? No just kidding, thought it would be kind of funny with all the recruiting talk that goes on on this board. Truthfully, rumor has it that you can add
MITCH RYAN- 6' 200 lbs forward from CEC for the '06 year.
Rumor has him playing juniors for a year and then going to UMD in '06. This is just a rumor, but my source tells me both parties, Sandelin and Ryan, seem very excited about the idea.
P.S. Saw Mitch and his dad heading down the stairs to the coach's office Saturday night. Looks to me like he wil be going there.
That's my gossip column for the day

Matt Greer just committed to UMD. He played for WBL (graduated 04). He is playing for the Des Moines Buccaneers...the team isnt good but he has about 30points in 50 games. I think he is 6'2" 195lbs and he is a Forward.

Just wanted to say, UMD fans, have fun with Jim Jensen. He's a former Pioneer defenseman, and I will NEVER forget some of the hits he put up. This kid was a complete enforcer when he was with the Pioneers, so hopefully he will continue that in college by pounding kids! <img src=

You have to admit the Wall is playing pretty good now, it makes me wonder if he is going to play for any minor leagues or schools?

I'm pretty sure Sall will be playing for the Blades this spring. Going to Toronto, for the prospects game.

It appears that Hardwick is down to UMD and Tech, however, I would assume that a couple schools might try to sneak in the back door after his performance this past weekend.

Next year's UMD team is going to be fun to watch. They've got some skill guys (Stapleton, Gergen, Raymond), some grinders (Sharp, Carrol, Kemp) and some heavy hitters (Rosehill, Garrison, Jensen).

As far as penalties goes, I think Rosehill has made some major strides since early in the season. He still gets called quite a bit, but a lot of the penalties I've seen lately have been what I deem a direct result of his size. Curry on the other hand drives me crazy with the stupid penalties he takes.

I'm liking a d-corp of Czech, Gawryletz, Rosehill, Garrison, Niskanen, Jensen, and the very underrated Josh Meyers.

Hardwick isn't thinking about UND? I figured if tUMD lost him as a recruit, it would be to UND. Nice arena, closer to Warroad, many teammates going there.. I couldn't blame him if he went there, but Tech wouldn't be a bad choice either.

As long as he doesn't go to the Gophers

From what I heard, both the U and UND backed of Kyle (I think a lot of people had second thoughts after state last year), while UMD and Tech seemed to have kept in contact.

Quote:
I already lost my gf to him I dont need to loose my starting position in a few years.

Yes Sall the Wall is from East, he has the record for most saves in a period at the state tourny. Man all season I didn't think he was too good, but then once the playoffs hit he went on fire, I am thinking if he can play like he has all playoffs he has a good shot at going D1 hopefully UMD.

"The Wall" is going to have to play a couple years of juniors if he is going to go to UMD. Even after Isaac leaves we'll have Josh, Nate Z. and Stalock.

I think Isaac is a little overrated, though I haven't seen alot of games. I hate to say it man I do but Josh should be their starting goalie.

This past weekend he played pretty well, that 2 on 1 save vs. Carlson was sic. That being said I know most UMD fans I talk to seem to have the a lot of confidence in Josh. This may be the first time since Lendzyk/Butler that UMD truely has a viable 1-2 combo.

UMD is a team of underachievers and they look to be a bottom half WCHA team next season. They bring in some good talent next year but when you look at what they bring in compared to what a few other WCHA teams are bringing in (Gophers, Sioux and Wisconsin), UMD's class falls short. This latest guy they got (Boll) is going to be a problem cause he is penalty prone.
