Im surprised at the LACK of Minnesotans drafted this year. Anybody know how many were drafted last year compared to this year?

Biggest surprise though has to be all the NAHL kids going. Each player costs quite a bit of money in compunsation.

rl, not surprised to tyson of fergus go early. very impressed with his skills through the years. how would you compare tyson to, let's say finney from edina...who left that program before his junior year to play "juniors"? two big players...tyson has better skating skills, however, finney has one mean shot from point!

After seeing you numbers I went through and only counted kids out of Minnesota High Schools. I didn't include NAHL players or Shattuck kids.

2004 2005

35 25

Of the 25 selected, nine were underclassmen. Meaning only 14 of our Seniors got drafted this year. Given the amount of players who get cut from the 30 man rosters, I wonder if Minnesota will even have 10 players playing in the USHL next year who played High School hockey the year the year before?

I have 36 total MN kids. That is out of high school, other junior teams, shattuck or college. 179 players were taken. MN owns 20% of the draft.

I don't have the time to go through all of the USHL rosters but I think the number of MN Seniors headed to USHL tryouts will go up a bit when you include the kids that already were commited from previous futures drafts and they got there 10 games in. ex. Lee, Oshie, etc

That's a good point Neutralzone. It will increase by quite a bit as many were selected last August.

it does seem alittle light but think of all the guys that left early last year Rau,wheeler, Finley...etc....and how many were taken last year and split seasoned they seemed to have a strong classes that always played up
