If I were on the Forest Lake Boys Hockey team I would be getting my team ready for the next game and not worry who will win the section. We already know who will win the section. Any team with 3 straight wins. Over look Greenway and it will be one and done for Flake.

so...

Who do you think, Kranky....what will happen Tuesday night, as you see it? Can the Warriors beat GR?

Hello, I do believe Brainerd can beat Rapids, but:
the seniors need to get it up and play to their potential;<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... tongue.gif ALT=":p">
they need to play three lines and stay fresh for the 3rd period;<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/roll.gif ALT=":rollin">
no stupid penalties;<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/eyes.gif ALT=":rolleyes">
and, good goaltending.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... s/nerd.gif ALT="8o">

This game could be close or it could be lopsided either way, it all comes down to attitude and intensity.

As you know that's been impossible to predict all year!

If Brainerd wants it bad enough, I like their chances.<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

This will be an interesting game. Brainerd features a team with some big guys, but Rapids can skate faster and has better team endurance. Right now Rapids first line is clicking like I expected at the beginning of the year. Mark Columus was possesed against Roseau with 4 goals! Stunyo and Tavis played extremely well. The way the first line played was a thing of beauty! Roseau's goalie stood on his head or GR would have had 10 goals in that game. The other lines for Rapids are potent as well. I expect Hippikka to play well in nets Tuesday night. This Rapids team is on a mission. I think they'll continue to roll and feed off of the energy of a sold out IRA.

computations from my lengthy research provides that more whining will take place on both sides than goals scored..... chances are the winner in this one will be Kleenex. but, as prolific ones know Zer0 always makes a call and is generally wrong...so in this case....Da' Barn 2 Da' Metro 0. Zer0s sees one goalie gettin hot and takin charge "which" one will it BE? low...<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/im ... smokin.gif ALT=":smokin">

Columbus had a great game, but when is the last time he did? He should be like that all the time. It will be tough for one line to beat Brainerd, C-E-C and East> So Rapids fans hope for good play through 3 lines and good goaltending...maybe another rapids-east final????

Well that about sums it up!! I guess they are moving onto bigger and better things. Shame on you for saying that the people who didnt work hard at hockey in the offseason let the team down. True many didnt go to camp inthe summer but they worked extremely hard during the season and came up short in the playoffs, thats it!! The kids who u say feel let down will go onto bigger and better things like juniors and maybe college if it really means that much to them. Maybe some of the kids who didn't work as hard at hockey in the offseason have there eyes on a different prize. Some of them might have futures in other sports besides hockey, and placed the emphasis on them. So placing the blame on people who didnt go to camp in the offseason is just ridiculous.

iced up

my point is don't whine and pout and wet the bed when you get out of it what you put into it. try to do the same for the king of the fall and the god of spring. your result will be slivers at the best.

Agreed

I agree with you but the king of the fall doesnt require that much, just lifting and camp twice a week after lifting and thats just come when you can. Theres a total of like 15 summer workouts that are about an hour each. I agree that every kid should lift though, regardless of the sport. Yes Baseball does take a lot of time in the summer and the god of spring requires it for the most part. The big difference is kids want to play for sports that have tradition and are playing for something every year. That may be why the extra effort is put in. It does wonders i agree. Maybe if Brainerd can get over the hump just one year and make it to state and the youngsters can go see how great it is to be at a state tourney much less play in one the program can get over the hump and build a tradition. A big difference is anyone can play football, but not everyone can play hockey.

another difference is, you don't have to start playing football at a young age and you don't have to be a very good athlete to contribute to the team. i apologize to no one and have no shame when i make statements in regards to how the athletic scene has gotten totally out of whack. i come from a warrior era that would have welcomed the facilities and opportunities that today warrior athletes take for granted. we maybe perhaps are a little jealous because we were the ones that paved the way for the future and are maybe a little intolorant of todays athletes that takes what they have for granted.

Man you guys from Brainerd need to toughen up a bit. All this hand wringing is beginning to sound kind of girly like. Pitch some square bails this summer to toughen up and come back next season with some purpose!

0432, I have no idea who you are, but IF you are a former Warrior...or whatever connection you have, it's beginning to sound a little old. Maybe you are tied a little to tight up to the Grillos or something, you keep singing the same old song about the jet skis over and over and over. Icee DREW the right picture. To imply that some kids "let the team down" is just the statement of someone who doesn't know much, or anything, about this particular group of boys.
Might be better to say that they boys know who can play and who can't....who gets way too many breaks, just cuz of who daddy is...The boys know.

heckno

you'd be surprised how much i know about them boyz and their good/bad habits. i do have a good idea who you may be by the crumbs you leave behind. i can say that nisswa is'nt the only place that has a camp in this area that an alum might be snowing a goalie or too. what i do know, you can hunt hard all season and when the moment of truth comes forth, you can't blame the weapon for failing to do its part if it hadn't't been fired up until then or get mad at the dog for failing to retrieve when it sat in the kennel all the time up to the hunt or finding out that the skates don't fit when you try them on the day of the first practice. all the above is not the fault of the gun, dog or skates. look in the mirror for the answer.

happy hockey!

from the arch of st. louie to the shores of the mighty red, ....west of us lies cass county and the east mys well be dead...,

heckno
you should know that the best lessons are from ramblings. i'm going to put a lid on this now because the message is not finding its way home and probably never will. to comprehend the message you need to be able to see far enough ahead to be able to look back to find the answer.
happy hockey
