Some of the local colleges are having their goalie equipment pads altered to meet the 11" width rule requirement verses 12". I checked out the MSHSL site looking for goalie equipment pad, catcher and blocker size requirements for HS hockey and only saw the following:
_______________________________________
NFHS Uniform and Equipment Rules Changes
Effective 2006-07 unless specified otherwise.
Ice Hockey
Goalkeeper’s blocker glove and catching glove may not exceed 9 inches width and 17 inches length.

Does any one know where to find the equipment rules for HS hockey?

I haven't heard anything yet but I believe this is in order. I have seen some pretty huge pads on. I think this will make the games more interesting too as you will see more goals.

My concern is that I have ordered new pads, catcher and blocker for the upcoming HS season. The intent was to give the goalies as much of an advantage as allowable, however I can't seem to find what is allowable. It appears from my earlier post that they have changed the size of the catcher and blocker. What about the pads? I would think the 2" (in total) change in the pad width will take some time to get used to for a goalie.
