Obermeyer's a nitwit

The local TV news last night interviewed the fan who jumped out of the Metrodome stands to run the bases in the middle of the Twins-Red Sox game. It was Jake Obermeyer, a Chaska hockey player who played for the USHL's Tri-City last year, and is listed as a Robert Morris recruit. Obermeyer was sporting his "Midwest College Hockey League" T-shirt during his interview, and offered up that while he wasn't hurt by the tackle, if he had been, he would have sued the batboy. Obermeyer got a disorderly conduct ticket for the prank.
All in all, I thought he came off looking like a ding-dong, both by acting like a jackass at the ball park and by sounding like a nitwit in the interview.

The TV station's program director that gave him the interview is the biggest moron of all. Why give him any airtime?

I agree...and to think HE would have sued for doing something wrong to begin with..
and also he said he had a couple of beers to boot.. maybe stay off the dome 3.2 beers and enjoy the game....what a piece of work.

It appears Robert Morris landed a topnotch hockey recruit.....a hockey player that got tackled by a batboy!
Interesting contrast of two guys less than a year apart in age - Joe Mauer, starting catcher, hitting 0.375 in big leagues......Jake Obermeyer, uninvited fan that jumps onto major league field without permission, and gets tackled by the batboy.
Nice legacy - HOCKEY PLAYER THAT GOT TACKLED BY A BATBOY.

Yeah, heard him on KDWB too.
I hope he likes his legacy because now he is one of the top videos on the internet. I've always wanted to be up there with Star Wars kid and people like that...

Good thing for Mr.Obermeyer that Mike Curtis wasn't on the field. Curtis was a nasty middle linebacker for the Colts when they played on natural turf in Baltimore and once clotheslined a fan who ran onto his field. My brother and some friends went to a Bills' game in Buffalo a few years ago when a fan ran onto the field and the security guards were a bit more athletic than the ones at the Dome and nailed the guy.
Considering all that's happened, starting with Monica Seles and going through Chicago with the KC coach who got suckerpunched by a drunken idiot, a fan who runs onto the field deserves whatever bumps and bruises he gets.
