I was just talking to one of my players, and we were talking about what a quality level of hockey JGB has become. From the D8 teams to the overall play of the teams in the MHL. This is my fourth year coaching at this level, and i think by far the best hockey ive seen from top to bottom.

Just looking for thoughts and i thought id start a new thread so we just dont have to talk about out games and rankings...

It would have been better...

...if the A teams left and played A hockey....otherwise it was nice to see such great competition at the B level this season!

I just felt bad that CG form RV was all alone on this string and nobody replied to his banter...

I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with CG here. This is the best i have ever seen the level of play JGB has had since I have been involved. Which is about 5 years now.

As far as the "A" teams in the B level... What "A" teams??? Every team I have seen this far should be at the B level...
Yes, Even The ELKS and the TARTS, the only A team i think either of them would beat is Hudson. The Truth is that all the teams in this league are in this league because this is where they can "compete", not get blown out...

I agree with all of you! This is the closest I have seen in years...from top to bottom. There has been some fun upsets and Great close games in our league. The especially hard thing this year was trying to fit 25 games in the short season we have, plus tourneys. It made those 3 games in row a real challenge but very fun!
CoachGuy- your a class act! It was nice to meet you in person and appreciate the comps. Great question! GOOD LUCK IN THE PLAYOFFS!

You're right Pete!

Good play and good competition this season! From 1 to about 15 or 16 are not easy games to play and on a good night a good team gets beat (ie RAVE beating Tartan and ER). These playoffs should be good hockey!

you know after last nights games, I couldnt sleep for a while. I sat and thought about last season and what a bummer it was when we only won 4 or 5 games. I look at what has come of these teams that were nothing last year and have become something better. We all expect EP and WBL to make the playoffs, but do we expect Roseville, Rave, Bville, and MTKA to make it every year? I think after last nights games, the question was answered with an emphatic !!! YES, there was no 8 seed pressing overtime on a #1, or a bunch of games being determined by one goal within the last minute or two. I have seen some leagues dominated by EP, Edina, and WBL, but this year, as proven by Tartan, It may not even be EP, it could even be a MTKA or WBLB or anyother team hanging on by a thread. My thoughts after last night...
rave35
