Ben Montgomery - should have he is one of the best defenceman in minnesota, obviously better than at least one of the 8 d that made it

Conner Gaarder - Zepeda had 1 pt and made the team Gaarder had 8 and didnt, he easly one of the 12 best forwards

That Goalie is Michael Webb 4.5 games without giving up a goal, rated #1 on all the coaches cards and doesn't get selected. Go figure. Politics :?:

The best players are not even on the lists in this post.

Webb was a great golie, I find it hard to beleive he wouldn't be selected. He was definatly one of the best ones there.

Select 15

I have heard from a few people that Advance 15 is by far the most political. 16 and 17 are suppose to be less.

Any of the dads seen working the judges in st. cloud?

About the Webb comment: 1. how would anyone know how kids were ranked..........i am assuming the judges aren't revealing the scoring. 2. clearly webb is a deserving kid and if the shut out info is correct, how did the goalies get graded? was stauber in the rink?

olson from DE? i heard he hardly made a pass while in st. cloud. if true, how can coaches pick a kid that doesn't utilize his teammates in a team game? why would coaches judging talent reward a selfish player?

i heard leddy knocked olson on his butt when he came down on him 1 on 1. did anyone see that?

Ben Montegomery was by far one on the top 2 defenseman there and Connor Gaarder may not of put his best effort forward but he was still gettin goals and making the big plays and his performance was by far better than alternate and as far as webb he outplayed every goalie there and the leading goaltender trent caspar shouldnt of even made the district 6 team i am just dissapointed in the evaluation commitee...there are always select 16s

reinharts

1. He was infromed by at least one of the judges. 2. Goalies had seperate practices. They're judged on skating, lateral movements, how they play/handle the puck etc.

Isn't the number 1 thing a goalie is asked to do is STOP THE PUCK!.. I could give a crap if he is not the best skater, doen't have the best technique. I bet if you ask any college or professional head coach, the number one thing they want the goalie to do is STOP THE PUCK!
If what is said about Webb is true and he had all the shutouts in his playing time, then he is deserving. Heck, there were some deserving goalies from the festival that did not even make it to the final 102. Politics is in all aspects of life. What sucks is when deserving kids getpassed over based on these politics.

I have to agree with you Bugsy. Stopping the puck should be the number one priority at a camp like advance 15. Look at Hasek, he wouldn't make anyone's list if you were looking for a goalie that could handle the puck. There is nothing technically pretty about his game. He is about as unorthodox as a goalie can get. But, he stops the puck. Isn't that what a goalie is suppose to do?

Don't dispair if you didn't make the final team. Typically, the turnover is huge from 15 to 16 and 17. Many of the "big studs" at 15 are way into puberty, shaving and are basically men. Others will grow a lot during the next year. Keep working hard and have fun.

defensmen

The defensemen were, not really sure who was the other alternate

ryan weston(roseau)
joe faust(greenway)
nate schmidt(st cloud cathedral)
mark delude(holy angels)
jordon johnson(hill murray)
nick mattson(chaska)
ian cochran(moorhead)
ben montegumery(shattuck) (alternate)

stop playing the Montgomery card. he wasn't even noticeable. Maybe politics is exactly why these 22 kids made the team....for their skill....not their connections....

Mr. Zepeda...good one. wrong, but good one. Zepeda is the one player I'm surprised about. I thought that there were at least 2 other players (at forward) that looked like stronger hockey players.
