Johnson to coach U.S. women's hockey team
Associated Press
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Mark Johnson, who scored two goals in the "Miracle on Ice" victory at the 1980 Olympics, was hired as the coach of the women's national hockey team.

Johnson replaces Ben Smith, who left after the U.S. women finished third at the Turin Olympics, USA Hockey officials said Wednesday. The 2010 Olympic coach has not been selected.

Johnson coached the Wisconsin women's team to its first NCAA championship last season. He will coach the women's national team in the world championships in April in Canada.

Also Wednesday, USA Hockey named Brad Frost, associate head coach of Minnesota women's hockey, as an assistant coach to the U.S. under-22 women's team.

Frost helped Minnesota to back-to-back national championships in 2004 and 2005.

It's been a pretty nice, and well deserved off season for coach Frost with this and the earlier promo within the Gopher women's team coaching staff. Good to see!!
