Now that the hockey season is right around the corner, who do you think has the best chance of winning Section 1A this year?

Winona is not in this group. If they were on their own, the would be, but they are AA because they are in a coop with a couple other schools.

According to MSHSL web site, they are still 3A

To move them now would go against the way MSHSL does its section alignments. They redraw the sections every two years (they will draw up new sections this winter for 2007-09) This year's only adjustments would be for new teams or teams that move up or down a class because of cooperatives sponsorships joining or breaking up.

As for next year, it's too soon to tell. They'll start talking about it in January or February

Anyone else as excited as me for this upcoming 2006-2007 season?

I'm looking for some classic matchups right out of the shoot such as AL vs. New Ulm opening game.

I'm also glad I found a 1A forum that doesn't involve "ZAMBONI"... can't stand the guy...

GRAFMASTER. You can't stand the TRUTH. I would like to find a 1A forum that other teams can talk in and not have Albert Lea people jump all over them.

Everybodies first game from the top state conteders to the bottom feeder teams. Reason, the season will have officially started and the debates of whose better and whose over rated will really crank up.

The seasons comin, but not fast enough! I saw the first games for HS Hockey on FSN starts the 30th. I am sad to see though that no southern teams are going to have a televised game. Not even Rochester. I think the south is underestimated, not bashing northern teams in anyway, because that's where all the state champions are but still, we would like to watch some of our teams too.

Scrimmages

I heard that a bunch of 1A schools are scrimmaging around Thanksgiving in Mankato.

East, West, Albert Lea, New Ulm, Waseca, and Marshall I think. Are there others?

Should be a bit of a measuring stick for the section. Interesting that New Ulm and Albert Lea turn around and play each other on Monday the 27th........I wonder if they'll scrimmage each other at Kato.

New Ulm and AL are scrimmaging in Kato on the 24th
Looks like each team plays 3 or 4 30 minute scrimmages.
I know West is scrimmaging against Albert Lea, New Ulm and Marshall that day and will scrimmage Chaska later that night

scrimmages should all be pretty good games, with AL scrimmaging New Ulm and then playing them a few days earlier it will be interesting to see how both teams adjust after the scrimmage
