Wow, lots of irons in the fire here. Vikes, Gopher FB, Twins free agency, now Gopher BB.
Let's just say a loss to Winona St. piggybacked with a loss to pesky NDSU could be a rough start for the other U head coach who's name begins with M and ends in son. I doubt the heat directed in Monson's direction after a potential dubious start will take away from Mason's, as there will be enough to go around, but at the very least the two can take cover in the bunker together.

Monson's attempt at spinning the outcome was funnier than the game result.

They'll win by 1, NDSU will have a shot blocked with 3 seconds left.
Embarrasing loss to Winona. Winona State is a great team, but they're still D-2. The disparity should have been evident, and it looked like Winona was a team that wanted it more. Potentially another long season in Gopher basketball land.

I certainly believe that the Gophers basketball team will be brutal.

With the baskeball loss to Winona and the football near-loss to NDSU, it appears as if there is only two teams to watch at the U. They both play on ice.

Lawrence Mackenzie played very well against NDSU. The Gophers basketball team showed a glimpse of promise.
