So I'm hearing nothing but good things about this new Duluth Co-Op team... how do you think they'll stand up to the Lightning tonight? Bellamy is strong in nets... but what do they have for scorers?

Well, you know me, I'd like to say the Lightning are going to easily dominate this one. With Bellamy in nets, and the Lightning having problems burying it lately it should be a pretty good battle. I'll say 3-2/4-2 Lightning with possible empty net goal.

They are fairly good. Big strong goalies, good tallent through all 3 lines. They don't have any big super stars, and they don't have great snipers, but some very skilled kids, and are deep. I don't know if they will go very far, but a huge improvement from what they had last year at the seperate schools. I heard tail that they cut a ton of kids and didn't even try to form a JV, is there any truth to that?

vs Lightning, I don't know. I thought GR would do more than I have been seeing, but maybe they are just going to take some time. This will definatly be one of the games I look for on the score columns.

Any team with solid G and a strong set of players can be dangerous to even the best teams. I think the G for Duluth is very solid from what I saw of her historically. I wouldn't look past Duluth, but I'm not ready yet to say they will be in the hunt for a section title. Simply too soon to tell, and there are a lot of team checmistry/cohesion issues that need to get worked out with a new co-op & new coach for some of the players, etc. Should be interesting to see how things progress/end up.

This is going to be a very good, evenly matched game from what I have heard. It will be interesting to catch the final later tonight.

Are there any Trachsels, Hoenes, or Randolphs on the Duluth team?

Trachsel is a Wisonsin import, so I doubt there are any Trachsel's.

Funny, I played with those guys (many) years ago at Duluth Cathedral, way before it evolved into Duluth Marshall.

Regarding this game tonight, without having seen GR, I would bet on Duluth based on what I saw in a scrimmage a couple of weeks ago. They are on a par with Cloquet, I believe.

Well thats good to see the fans are supporting this team. But heck, with 3 big schools to draw from, thats a lot of family and relatives to fill up the rink.
