Last week, Milton Friedman, one of the greatest economists of our day, passed away at the age of 94.
His passing has reminded me of a great book written by him and his wife in about 1980, Free to Choose, by Milton and Rose Friedman.
Therefore, in his memory, I am recommending for all to read. It is an easy read, and they are excellant at presenting and describing how our freedom has been eroded over time with the myriad of laws, regulations and agencies, many with good intentions, but have produced deplorable results. It should be very interesting for all to read, as it is so easy to take our freedom for granted.

The free to choose series that aired on PBS is a great tool for teaching economics. If you have ever had the opportunity to watch this series you will see what I mean.
Perhaps one of his most influential contributions to Economics was coining the term natural rate of unemployment. His resume is long and distinguished, to regirgitate all of his accomplishments would take a while. His legacy and teachings will remain influential indefinetely.

Anyone able to read the book?
P.S. Wild4hockey, would like to see the series. Please post on here if you know of an upcoming rerun. Since PBS doesn't aire many games, it is watched only slightly more than the current set of network sitcoms.

I don't think PBS runs it anymore, but I could be mistaken. I will email the powers that be at PBS and see if they ever plan on running it again. I would assume the library would have it.
I was just searching google to see if they had plans to run that series and I didn't find anything, but they are airing a special called The Power of Choice: The Life and Ideas of Milton Friedman”. This will air January 29, 2007 at 10 p.m on PBS. It says to check local listings to be sure.
This is a must watch and hopefully it won't interfere with any of our beloved sporting events.
Here is the link to purchase the whole series it is $95 so you probably won't be rushing out to get it but it is available if you are interested.
