Section 7AA

Have yet to see a section 7aa thread on the forum so i figured i would start one. right now the clear front runners of the section in my eyes would have to be CEC and East. GR and Brainerd would have to be my contenders for the 3,4 spot. big game tomorrow night which should clear the 3rd spot up. a lot of big games coming up during the next couple of weeks. what are other peoples thoughts on 7AA?

3 spot?

Dude, way to early to determine the 3 spot, let alone any. I understand your reasoning, but man there are a lot of 7AA games left. Forest Lake will likely throw a wrench in there.

Big 7AA games for Flake:

December 1, lost 4-3 to GR
January 6, vs. Brainerd
January 30, at Cloquet

I would like to see how Forest Lake fares in these two games before judging them.

Also, I was suprised that Duluth East and Flake do not play once during the season (or at least MSHSL did not list any game).

Good research HOVA!

agreed RIGHT NOW those would be solid rankings, but lets let the month of January play out before we start making predictions

PS HOVA why is he going with her to the game tommorow??

I might add that the Brainerd/GR game, some people will assume the winner will get the 3 seed likely and the loser 4 or 5. I think the winner is in good shape to fight for #1, not just 3. Don't give CEC and East the top 2 spots either. Some people seem to think those two are a lock for the top 2 spots.

WOW GR19 making sense!!

Yes if GR wins:
They will have shown they have the talent and can beat a top four team 7AA (Brainerd)

If Brainerd wins:
They will have shown that they can beat two of the pre season favs in 7AA, only problem to Brainerd, yes they play CEC at home but they have road dates with CEC and East., tought to come to play on all three road games (GR included)

Thanks boblee for the info. Where did you find the Forest Lake schedule, because MSHSL didnt have a matchup listed?

You'd have to put Cambridge at #7 with a big gap between 7 & 8. They beat St. Francis 6-1 last night and it wasn't that close.

I would put Andover at 7 with a big gap between them and #8 Cambridge. Then STF at 9 and NL at 10.

No, No, No, No, No :!:

#1 DE/CEC (Wait 'til tomorrow)
#3 GR/Brd (This pick will get sorted out soon)
#5 Forest Lake
#6 Elk River (EREmpire & Big_Thurst will like this pick  )
#7 Andover
#8 Cambridge
#9 Northern Lakes (sentimental pick)
#10 St. Francis (must be a cat-lick school)

boblee you can't put Grand Rapids ahead of Brainerd even though you think they outplayed 'em :-k That game could have gone either way, Both goalies came up big at crucial times :!:

That will depend on how the pins are set and East, GR & CEC will make sure the lanes aren't waxed so Tyrone throws a gutterball when it's his turn to bowl ](*,)

The only team that gets screwed on the seedings every year is Rapids. Randolph puts a target on GR every year. I loved it after Rapid beat CEC in the finals and Cloquet's coach Esse said it was a complete travesty that Rapids didn't get the #1 seed last year.

It will be interesting too with the Northern Lakes coach putting his vote in there.
