The Crookston Hockey girls are off to a fine start and are currently 12-0-1 and rated #2 in Class A hockey. The C-town boy's are sitting at 0-6-2. Crookston's girls basketball team is off to a 7-0 start and are rated #1 in Class 2A BB. The C-town boy's are sitting at 0-7. Combined the girls are kicking the boys 17-0-1 to 0-13-2. What is up with the boys programs? Can they recover?

That is why Michelle Wie does so great on the PGA tour and we have several female players in the NBA, MLB, NFL, and NHL right?

Please understand I have nothing against females or their athletics, but we do have to be reasonable here.

could have something to do with the fact they dont have a female MLB, NFL, NHL or allow women to participate in them but overall guys are just stronger

You are incorrect sir. Manon Rheume was allowed to play in an NHL exhibition game.

Women are great at athletics, in their own sport. However, if you took the top female hockey player vs. Sidney Crosby (since he is probably the best right now), Sidney would probably win 10 out of 10 times. Case in point - The women's US olympic team losing to Warroads boys high school team which was not allowed to check.

Warroad 2
Team USA 1

women athletes can be just as good as men when they are matched in sports of finese but it is just so difficult for them to compete when they are going against someone 1 1/2 times there size and twice as strong. it's just not going to be a successful endevour for a woman.

"Update Special" Crookston boys Hockey/Africanhandball combined records to date 5-21-2 vs girls 25-2-1. My point is that the C-town girls are just plain better athletes in there respective sports than the boys :!:

That's a different statement then "Girls are just overall better athletes"

Way to go girls, by the way.

Wasn't the score of that game 5-1? Could be wrong.

Obviously they meant better relatively compared to their gender. 10 times out of 10 the boys team would win in a games against the girls team, but relative to the rest of the state in their gender the girls are better.

I would like to see the Pirate Ladies BB take on the Pirate boys BB team. I think this game would be a toss up. I would put my money on the girls.

Northland???, this wouldn't even be a game. The boys would clean up on them, just because the boys are stronger, quicker and more physical. As quick as the girls may look, against other girls, they would be no match for ANY boys team. Few, if any, girls have legitimate jump shots, so I'm afraid they would be eating plenty of leather. The vertical jumps are no comparison, as is the weight differential, so the girls would get very few rebounds.
Northland, please stick to hockey. I believe you're out of your element when it comes to basketball.

Your right suzie I should stick to hockey the greatest game on earth :!: The PRO

i dont think you can count this towards anything.
possibly most irrelevent topic i have ever seen in the forums.
i'm not sexist by anymeans, but if you want to start a battle of the sexes, ill be honored to be one of the representatives for the men.

quick question too, other than currie, and franklin, has there ever been a genius lady scientist?

It has been my experience that if you have to start a sentence off by saying "I'm not something" you usually are.

Maybe you should go back to history class and see that women weren't allowed to even vote until 1870, and for the most part not let out of the kitchen until the 1940's. And then it wasn't even accepted that they could get out of the kitchen until the '80s. That is a lot of time that they spent cooking and cleaning so that Einstein could produce the atomic bomb and Edison could make the lightbulb.

The purpose of this thread was not that the girls in Crookston are better athletes. The purpose is that compared to the boys they are more successful.[/i]
