Eden Prairie @ Lakeville North 1-11-07

The Eagles of Eden Prairie (7-4-1) will travel across town to face the defending 1AA champions, the Panthers of Lakeville North (2-9-1). Last year Lakeville North's record was .500 going into the playoffs and made it to state, so their record in the Lake Conference may be a little deceiving. Last year the Eagles took both meetings by a goal, the one in Lakeville in regulation.

Eden Prairie has very good D and one of the best goalies in the state. They also have a great one two punch offensively with Vranek and Kruse. They will win this one 5 to 1.

EP is far too good for Lakeville North. Eagles win 7-1.

What happened between last year and this year to have this much of a swing of score?

Lakeville North wasn't exactly a powerhouse last year, and they are really down this year. EP is a solid squad who should control the play in this game, I really don't see it being close.

They weren't a powerhouse, but they only lost by a goal each time these two met and one of them went into OT. Did they get a lot worse and EP that much better, or what?

Little bit of both, and it's not as though EP was an elite team last year either, very good, but hardly unbeatable.

Brooke is not the best goalie in Lake...not even close to yumasakler (south)

But North is way down with the split aftermath..Only 2 seniors with any real varsity experiance and along with that they only have a handful of players who were "A" level players before the split 3 of which are sophmores including their tender.

But Kvasnicka (North) is the real deal...on any other team in the lake he could have been talked of as an outside chance Mr. Hockey...already commited to the U for Baseball (hockeys loss)

If North starts (in the nets):

#1 sophmore - North 2 E.P. 4

#2 sophomore - North 2 E.P. 6

Freshman - North 2 E.P. 9

North isn't very good this year. Doesn't EP have Moorhead Friday night though? Maybe they'll be looking ahead but it won't matter. EP 8-2.
