Re: Hudson WI is 2-0 vs MN teams, 0-2 vs WI...

\ My big wonder this year (if you'll allow me to shift to the other side of the border) is how Grand Forks Central would compete with the top schools in MN. They are killing everyone in NoDak. Trying to navigate the North Dakota high school hockey page is a bit difficult, but I would agree that Gra...

Re: Hudson WI is 2-0 vs MN teams, 0-2 vs WI...

Yeah, I don't think Minnesota hockey is ending because Mankato East lost to Hudson and then Hudson lost to Superior. The people of Hudson probably have more in common with the rest of twin cities then they do to someone living in Milwaukee or Madison. I just looked at Hudson's bantam team and 12 of ...

Re: Junior gold rosters

Yeah, as someone who played Junior Gold that seems a bit extreme. I also played JV and watched every varsity game and in comparison, you could get away with much more with the MNSHL than junior gold when I played 5-7 years ago. They let you play a bit in varsity and JV, you can give some whacks afte...

Re: YHH Preseason Podcast 2018-2019

To comment on Danny's point about this Edina team having the least amount of offensive depth since the 2011-2012 team... I think you can make that argument and it is somewhat true. If you look at that team they had two 40 point scorers, one was a sophomore and one was a freshman but after that you h...

Re: Chaz and Cruz Lucius commit to Gophers

Kind of off topic, but does anyone know how Gentry academy works? I understand they have a Tier 1 team which they two brothers play on, but will they also be on the high school team or is that meant for less talented kids?

Wow, 11 players going to U of M. :D
Hard to blame them, lots of guys like to get an early jump on the golf season.
St. Cloud typically is not too far behind. Appears they like to meet up with the Gophs on the back 9

I thought Luedtke was very good in state last year and in all the games I saw him in. I don't know if he will have the scouts vote, but he would be my top guy right now.

If I had to guess 70% of the jobs will be in the service industry.....kids in those families do not play hockey in large numbers. Many of the rest will be advanced degrees in science......again not many hockey players coming from that group. More kids played bantam hockey in Rochester in 1983 with ...

Best of luck to Rochester Century. Be nice to see a Rochester club back in the tournament once again. My prejudice is always going towards John Marshall but reality puts them in the category of team like Columbia Heights or Johnson....that said I do believe in a "state tournament" and will always c...

D3 athletics, some of you may laugh at it. Here is how D3 schools that have money really work. I graduated HS and was recruited for football by several D3 schools. Yes sir, WM! Ol Andrew Rohkohl...nearly a complete opposite goalie in size and style to Willie B but terrific playoff run as Willie B had year previously. Who were the other transfers the last two years? Koumontzis was originally an Edina kid right? Yeah I’m blanking on who the other one the poster is referring to, but Koumontzis played more years in Edina than he did in Arizona so I’m not sure that is a great example. I have not heard anything about...

I wish BB the best. Kind of a screw you guys mentality and that escalated him to Gophers. I saw that two Way...

When's the last time the Gophers did anything with all this Edina talent? Maybe Motzko will change things but I'm glad Sandelin and the Bulldogs don't go after these "prized" Edina kids. Stray comment. There's a lot of mentions of Hermantown getting stronger in 2019. The 2019-2020 Hawks squad looks like the weakest version of the Hawks in quite a while. That group would probably be pretty overmatched playing AA. Should Biondi end up leaving early that would have a significant impac...

I will disagree somewhat with Green4's take on 2011. East had 6 D-I players, none of whom were seniors, and one of whom was a freshman who didn't play (Beaulieu). Edina had 10 D-I players, 5 of whom were seniors, plus Ben Walker, who probably would've been D-I if he'd stayed stateside. The Hornets ...
