Re: Sparlimb

When I was young, many moons ago, Hill didn't go north much to play teams. They played Duluth East once a year for a long time and that was about it. Looking back now. In the 60's, they played some teams I didn't know. St. John's Prep, Duluth Morgan Park, Archbishop Brady (must have been a St. Paul...

Re: Can we please bring back on-ice cheerleaders?

Reviewing some state tournament history just now I found the old programs had a section for hockey cheerleaders. The tournament has it all: great games, big student sections, great bands, a killer venue. All, except for cheerleaders. Wouldn't it be great to have them again? (Maybe I'm missing somet...

Word is that Hermantown's Blake Biondi is this year's Mr. Hockey and Hudson Hodges from Moorhead wins the Brimsek award, congrats to both!
Congrats to both young men, well earned amongst very outstanding peers.

Spar is already in bed, he drank two bottles of Red! I’m enjoying the Hill history though, so please keep it coming! I heard earlier that Hill has played in the Snake Pit. Have they played in Hibbing Memorial, Miners in Virginia, the Hipp? The old barn in Crookston, Roseau, Warroad? Would love to h...

Re: Sparlimb

Sparlimb, being a HM fan, you have to know Jake Guentzel the Pittsburgh Penguins star, played at HM. His dad, Mike grew up in my hometown of Marble in Greenway country. I used to drop the Mpls. Sun. Tribune on the doorstep of Mike's parents' house when I was a young buck. Mike was a great player fo...

Re: Mahtomedi vs Hermantown

One of best state tourney games in recent memory! How the Zephs had enough gas left in the OT tank to overcome that late third period Biondi/Pierce/Pionk onslaught and morale killer tying goal I will never know. I mean I knew they had some good depth this year and that Dardis was great, but it was ...

Re: Mahtomedi vs Hermantown

I'm really happy for Mahtomedi. They played a team that would beat them 9 out of 10, but they played that 1. In the biggest game there was. The overcame a soul crushing tying goal and came back and played better in OT. I think Hermantown didn't have a lot in the tank for OT. If they had gone to a 2...

Isn't a priest supposed to be part of this joke too? Seems like it would be a good time for a thread about the superiority of the catholic high school hockey player... Re: AA Championship: Hill Murray v Eden Prairie

Solid take. Your support is noted. And it also has been good luck this year when WestMetro picks against Hill too. So if you can give a plug to EP, my man, that would be appreciated. Feel free to bring up that you feel as confident as you did with Blake when they played HM. 8) Based on last n...

Re: AA Championship: Hill Murray v Eden Prairie

Not to slight "superiority of the Catholic school hockey player" but ol' NWOT has to make a hasty exit from the STA bandwagon (short lived as it was) and jump on the EP train for one last chance of notching a W for 2020 state. Soar all you hired gun Eagles in the 'chump chip' The fate of the triple...

With the Hermantown-Mahtomedi matchup, now 35 of the last 42 participants in the Class A title game are from metro areas. The founders of Class A are rolling in their graves. :?
