How do the auto bids work? Just getting the number 1 seed makes an auto bid?

D-4 looks like Fair Play Points made the difference in the standings. Looks like Mankato and Owatonna are the best teams but gettting the 4-5 seeds due to FPP?! New Ulm take the 3rd seed with an 8-6 record! WOW!

How did the D-6 play-ins shake up?

Actually the 1 seed in D4, (Albert Lea) had a 10-3-1 record, identical to Owatonna and Mankato. In head to head league play, Albert Lea beat Mankato and split with Owatonna with a better goal differential. Throw silly FPP out and AL still gets the 1 seed. Come districts, none of this matters, there isn't one team heads and tails above anyone. Goaltending and discipline will play a huge role in deciding games. All things equal, I would guess that NP or Mankato are the favorites

Yes Eagan is at home, but a walk? I'd say they are the favorites but Rochester and South present at least a challenge and Woodbury could be dangerous as well.

after head to head the tie breaker is most wins, and ep had 9 and jefferson had 8.

Coach J

Eagan should walk away with this one? I don't think it matters that they are playing at home.......and I believe they finished 4th in the final standings so they have proven nothing yet. Also, doesn't matter at all who wins the District, three teams are going so the goal is to be one of these 3 teams to get to Regionals. How one gets there doesn't matter......these three teams will have had to play at the top of their games to get out of the district. At least 1 of the top 4 teams won't make it..........

I guess I was a little late to the party, Eagan may lose it's this first game, Hastings is going to be tough. Playing pretty good right now.

with ease. edina is in the wild card because of HEP points. they were tied for most wins with AV. in the playoffs hep points matter, all that matters is if you win, which they have, and they would probably be in te top 5 if they were more disciplined.
