Central Lakes Conference

Post by qwerty16 »

Who is going to win the CLC this year?...I would say that Brainerd is the favorite at this point in the season . However, SRR,LF, and FF should be in the mix for the title. I the CLC has more competition this year than it has in years past. Should be interesting to see how it all works out. Any other opinions?

Beings as this is a terribly weak conference, at least compared to years past... I guess you're not to far off. I'm surprised you don't have Tech in the running.. but to be honest, they don't deserve to be.

I say Brainerd and Sauk Rapids are probably the two obvious choices for having the best shot. I would have to tip the canoe in Brainerd's favor, but there's still a lot of season to go.

I'm glad you picked out that Tech was not in my top 4 rankings for this conference. They are down this year and I think they will be beat by everyone of the other teams I listed. I agree that Sauk Rapids stands above the other two(LF and FF) at this point, but I just threw them in there because I believe that both of those two teams have lots of potential if they choose to use it.

You're right about the other two. However, the reason I think LF is in trouble is how SR killed them the other night. You can't lose to a team like that and consider yourself a contender.. Although, they might claw their way back and of course, SR can fold...

I predict a close race between Brainerd and Sauk Rapids.. and I predict that Brainerd will win the conference.

Of course, I've been wrong many times before..

The CLC is considerably weaker than it has been in years past. SR seems to be making a come back this year...but still these teams are not up to the caliber that some of the teams were in years passed.

Apollo used to be a force...Harrington, Schwartz, Waldorf, Hoffmann, Howe, Hartmann, Henkemeyer....

Thats like 4 D1 players, and 6 or 7 USHL players

Tech with Deters, Grant, Winter, Meinz, Swanson, Wheeler, etc.

SR with Raduns, Peckskamp, Streit, Wocken.

The CLC USED to be a pretty tough conference with a lot of talent, that talent level has dwindled over the pasted 3 or 4 years, however.

But, I pick Brainerd to win the CLC title. With SR taking second.

Anyone going to the Apollo/Tech game tonight? Any predictions for it?
2A
