They did very well actually I thought. They have one big guy that can't move very well but takes up the whole net, and they also have a little guy that moves very well, so put those two together and you have a very good neminder.

GR, I was at the scrimmages. I actually supplied brickwall33 (who couldn't make it) with the scores of the games.

Hill Recap:

H-M faced GR to start. It was tight and close in the first 10 minutes or so and then it began to open up. The speed of Hill was tiring out the Grand Rapids club. I know one GR fan/parent said to me that the Pioneers must have had good captains practices because they were so quick, which was true. A lot of it consisted of skating and drills and scrimmaging usually occured just once a week. Anyways, goals were scored by Arrigoni(2), Hoeffel, Larson, Cassidy, McCallum.

Game 2 was against St. Cloud Tech, a pretty decent club. I'll just say whoever their first goalie was, he was outstanding. Goal was scored by Kohler.

The final game was against Hibbing and the Pioneers ended up posting a shutout. Goals were scored by Hoeffel(2), Pearson, Larson, and Guentzel.

Edited by: <A HREF=http://p100.ezboard.com/bmnhs.showUserP ... Hillfan at: 11/20/05 1:40 pm

speed

Post by gr19 »

I watched those scrimmages a lot when I was living in Grand Rapids and it seems Hill Murray is always very fast. Grand Rapids IMO, has lacked the speed of the top teams for a while. Not sure if it's a lack of working out hard enough or what. Just my observation, maybe I'm wrong.
