Section 5 AA

Post by Can't Never Tried »

Well the other thread was the preview thread so I thought I would throw this up here for discussion.

Section 5AA Standings 1/11/08 from Mn scores

..............W L T ....W L T o/a ....AVG/F AVG/AgStreak
Osseo ....3 3 0 ....9 3 0 ....3.8 ....2.7 Won 7
Champlin Park ....5 2 0 ....10 5 0 ....3.7 ....2.7 Won 1
Blaine ....3 2 0 ....7 4 0 ....4.7 ....2.8 Won 1
Rogers/Zimmerman ....2 2 0 ....9 5 1 ....4.5 ....3.0 Won 5
Centennial ....4 1 0 ....7 4 2 ....4.2 ....2.9 Won 2
Maple Grove ....3 2 0 ....8 6 0 ....3.1 ....3.1 Lost 1
Irondale ....0 3 0 ....4 10 0 ....2.6 ....4.7 Won 2
North Metro ....0 5 0 ....1 12 0 ....2.4 ....4.9 Lost 4

Osseo beats Maple Grove last night and has a 7 game streak going, :o , and has only lost to Blaine and Cent. and the Fl__e loss to Coon Rapids, at this point you have to think that they could get the # 3 seed if they keep going the way they are.
They have some decent wins in their schedule as well...I have to say they have been a surprise in this section this year.

It's still quite early, but, it would be nice to see Osseo make the state tournament this year.

I will get to see Osseo 2/4 when Rogers plays them at Osseo, it will be the 1st meeting for them other then a scrimmage a couple yrs back, and the off season spring and fall leagues they played a few times very competitive games. Looking Fwd. to it.

Osseo is on an absolute tear right now, but I'd say Centennial is the favorite right now bcuz they have played worthy opponents in the conference and have yet to play a couple bottom feeders. But this section is a competitive one.

Sleepers:
Osseo
Champlin Park who is 6-2-0 in the conference now not 5-2-0 after last nights romping of ER
Maple Grove

I saw that the Section games this year are listed as being played at Andover and Champlin on the MSHSL site is that correct?

Yes that is correct. Whoever plays champlin will move their game to Andover to avoid CP's home ice advantage.

That's Good. I don't recall that happening last year.

Just for the first game. Then its off to the Coliseum and split games with 4AA. You do plan on going to the Coliseum dont you CNT?

According to the MSHSL, the semis of 4AA will be held together 2/26 & the semis for 5AA will be held together on 2/27. The finals of both will be held on the same night. Looks like a little wrinkle this year.

well CNT this section gets a little interesting after tonights results...if Osseo lost to MG that makes them in the 4 hole bcuz there conference record is only 8-7...your rankings are correct for the most part but i think if Champlin beats Osseo they will be a guaranteed 3 seed

IMO 1 and 2 are up for grabs pending this weekends results.
3,4 and 5 are tough to pick, Mg over Osseo is a bit of a surprise, so I would agree that if CP beats Osseo, they should get 3 just because of Conf. record and the win Over Blaine early. MG goes to 5.

With Rogers at 7, I'm kinda hoping Centennial get the 2 seed.

Well CP did beat Osseo today, so with that I think I flip my 3 and 4 picks to look like this.

Centennial
Blaine
Champlin
Osseo
Maple Grove
Coon Rapids
Rogers
Irondale
North Metro

OK Neut when is the Seedy meeting?
