HM @ Burnsville

Post by stpaul »

Hill-Murray 1, Burnsville 0 after 1
LaValle on the power play
HM killed off 3 penalties
shots 14-10 Burnsville

Duluth Marshall pulls goalie & scores with 15 seconds left to tie it with St. Thomas Academy 3-3.
Commers scores 27 seconds into OT. STA wins 4-3.

Faust for HM in the 2nd. Anderson & Sheehy for Burnsville. 2-2 after 2. 3 more penalties for HM. Just like the BSM game, they are taking too many penalties. Shots now 23-22 for Bv.

Wow - Holy Family 8, Holy Angels 4. A new Catholic power out in the western suburbs.

Yes Holy family beat AHA 8 - 4.
AHA outplayed HF after going down 3 - 0 after 3 shots. Tough when you spot a team 3 goals right away in the game. But AHA battled back the entire game and out-shot and out-played HF. HF did a great job of getting a replacement goal each time AHA score.

AHA is in need of better defensive play and better goaltending, but remember this was their first game. I am sure the coaching staff will work on it.

HF looked good at times, but still need some work. They have some real good skaters, number 9 (Gersitch SP) and number 16 looked good and got past the AHA d for the breakaways and odd man rushes. But I think their downfall will be the coaching staff. They need to stop the crying to the refs on every play...

Nice effort by EP tonight, they are a solid team that will compete with any team out there this season. Eagan carried the play more so than EP but also made several bad passes thru out the game. The EP goalie was terrific and made a couple of spectacular saves, including one on a wrap around that I will never figure out how he saved. The first EP goal was scored when an Eagan defensemen stepped on the puck and went down while trying to play the puck with his skate at the blue line. It turned into an immediate 3 on 0 breakaway, not much the Eagan goalie could do with that. The second goal was scored with 2 seconds left in the second period. Eagan's goal came off a nice shot off a faceoff. I thought the new Eagan goalie played solid and I feel confident in him moving forward. Next up for Eagan is Lakeville North on Thursday and Eden Prairie plays Andover also on Thursday.

Coming from 2-24 I definitly would consider a 5-1 win over anybody a good way to start
