No Faust Vs Hastings
Anybody know why Faust did not dress against Hastings? Hartzell started and was solid, he is not the greatest puck handler though.

Hastings gave the Bears a battle. White Bear again took a lot of penalties. Jerad Stewarts line was a threat everytime they were on the ice for Hastings.

Tom Kleidon looks very good on the blueline, and you better have your head up in the neutral zone or you might get a wake up call.

Was the game as close as the score? If so, the SEC is up for grabs. The games betwen CDH/WBL/Hastings should be good.

Get out and see em.

faust was out with a bad groin he should be alright though. WBL had a lot of shots on net(27), and hastings goalie was good. WBL also spent a lot of time in the box, and also didnt play to the best of their abilities. The score does not implement how the game went, it should have been 3 or 4 to zero, and when wbl wasnt on the pk the puck was always in the hastings zone.
The curse lives on.....

Thats a pretty interesting post after the Bears put up a shutout. 40% of their games so far this year they've shut out their opponents, and they're giving up around 1.5 goals a game so far this year.

I'm not saying that either Faust or Hartzell is the best in the state, and certainly the type of game the Bears play and the kind of quality defensemen they have in front of the netminders helps those numbers, but you can't say they have bad goaltenders.

If there's one thing that might end up holding this team back in the end, I'd say its that they're not finishing on the offensive end. They've gotten a decent amount of shots, they've had some chances, and for the most part this year they've controlled most of the play, but they haven't been able to finish.

WBL Goalies
BearCountry is right, WBL's goalie's are well above average, and their team defense will only make them look better. Stutz was by no means anything special for Centennial 2 years ago but shut out the tournament field (Yes, AHA fans, we know the goal should have counted ). So WBL's defensive game/goaltending wont be what keeps them from the state tournament.

However I don't think it matters because I think Hill will have enough fire power to beat them come sections

We'll see MNpuckster27. I'm looking forward to a potential WBL/Hill matchup at the Colliseum. Its always great when these two teams are among the elite in the state. That'll be one heckuva game.

How can you call Hartzell bad? He may be a little rusty but he made juniors in 11th grade. And according to FSN, we could be seeing Faust playing D-1 hockey sometime next year or 2 years.
