White Bear Sports Center = Good
White Bear County = fast ice, poopy visitor locker rooms

Other than that Plymoth is very nice, Minnetonka (high school), MARS in Duluth, Aldrich, most any place with good lighting and locker rooms.

Plymouth is amazing only if you play on either the A or C rinks though... A is the olympic size which is fun to play on more open ice and faster games

Best ice:
MARS Lakeview-Duluth
New Warroad Ice (Name slipped my mind)
BIG #?-Bloomington (The big sheet-I think its BIG 3)
St. Cloud MAC (I bit warm sometimes though)

Worst Ice:
Elk River-One of the sheets there was always a pool because the heat was always turned all the way up
Old Warroad Ice- Plywood boards, no glass, bad lighting.
Carlton-Lighting makes it look like the froze urine instead of water-murder lights everywhere.

In my opinion Proctor's arena isn't great, but the ice isn't too bad

I'm not saying the ice is the greatest, but I've played on on far worse is all. Guess I've never noticed the variations in the ice though.

The IGH arena is the top of the line. the ice is perfect and has decent locker rooms.

The worst ive played in was a rink in stillwater. i had a game there and im pretty sure that it was in a barn. it was terrible

what are you talking about? stillwaters two rinks are the farthest thing from barns and the varsity one is actually pretty nice

worst rink

Post by sweethands »

Your my man, iceprofet07. Carlton is by far the worst rink. We used that rink last for Duluth JGA practice and it was nothing to write home too. And if you want to meet some of the most homegrown hicks stop by and grab a seat and watch. I will say the outdoor rink isnt too bad, maybe the should sell that ice instead of so-called ice they have in that tin shed. Watch out for the bathrooms if you call them bathrooms...
