I am pretty sure Lehrke had been talked to by ushl teams last year, i know he has this year.

His older bro played in the ushl for two years. The way it looks Zack is going to be the better of the two if he wants it. I am pretty sure his name is out to alot of teams in the ushl as well as Ravendale. Ushl scouts arent stupid either, they know that he had little help this year and still put up numbers equal t ravendales and marvins

I dunno, I've seen both play numerous amounts of times and I couldn't tell you definitively that 1 Lehrke would be better than the other. Zach should be in the USHL somewhere after next year I presume.

Ok, we need to clear this up, Bryce's name is Ravndalen...ok? Anyway, his points are equal to Marvin's and Ravndalen's? Do we need to go back to the schedule? I think not, nuff said there. And Mullet Head, which piece of the Warroad duo would you replace with Lehrke to double the point output? The general consensus is that Marvin is the best player in the section and who is better between Ravndalen and Lehrke is a toss up for most people around here... so hows that work again? didn't make much sense to me. Oh and by the way, if Lehrke played for Warroad he would be playing competition much like he faced last night for an entire season. So that excuse wouldn't fly anymore, hmm, got anymore?

I believe Stahnke played minor league hockey. He has plenty of experience and knows systems far beyond your wildest comprehension. You have not a single damn clue what you're talking about. PR could have Jacque LeMaires as their coach and they would be no better than they are now. They are lucky to even field a hockey team.

And I've heard many folks from up there complaining about Warroad's coaches since Eades left, and since you're so intelligent in knowing systems, and dissing other people's coaches, maybe you should put your name in the hat to take over up there so everybody can sit back and criticize how you run a team. It's not easy being a coach, and Stahnke does a damn good job with what he has. Quit being so damn ignorant and making yourself even more retarded than you appear at face value.

If Lehrke got a breakaway he obviously got behind the D. I don't give a crap who coughed it up. You said he didn't get behind them and he did. There is no other explanation or reasoning needed.

Go back to 4th grade and learn some grammar and comprehension, too. You cause people to lose brain cells when they read your posts, and I'm concerned for the well being of my fellow forum readers. It's pretty easy to tell you're a highly educated individual, and I can see why you diss so many people and talk out of your as* so much.

All this "What if" stuff is also stupid. What if Lehrke played for this team, or did this, or he had better linemates? Lehrke plays for a school with #'s alot less than most decent teams at their youth levels. He would never turn his back on the friends he grew up with (like alot of people) and transfer somewhere else. He knows that if he works hard where he's at he'll get recognized just as much as going somewhere else. Quit using all of this dreamland crap to make an argument, its irrelevant.

ain't that always the way. When things start to turn ugly the personal insults begin... as far as the coaching thing goes, of course people are going to lament the loss of eades. that guy was the best thing to happen to warroad hockey since Cal Marvin. When he left obviously no one would be able to replace him and people are going to be bummed out. And from some of the things i've heard about your coach, none of which will be discussed on here, he doesn't sound like much of a coach.

oh, and for Lehrke getting behind the d to grab a coughed up puck, it really doesn't take much skill to get behind a defensemen when your team isn't controlling the puck. you want to get behind the d when the other team has the puck thats great, you're taking yourself out of the play, unless the puck gets coughed up of course.

but anyway, i better let you save those last few braincells for next season when you forget that PR cannot run with the big dogs yet and you want to come back to the board and brag them up again.

You insult people you should expect the same in return. Also, I never once bragged up PR, I picked them to win the Section as a homer pick and blatantly stated that, nothing else. I've personally talked to coaches around 8A who say the exact opposite of Stahnke. Maybe they're the dumb ones and you know what you're talking about. Highly unlikely.

Stahnke played for the Vulcans. He is a good coach. Look at where the program was before Coach McMorrow took over. The program improved wth him and Stahnke has taken it higher. Yes he has had some great players come along but those players had to be developed. The Panthers had a lot of success this year without alot of talent outside of #26.

Warroad proved they were a better team this year but Park Rapids will be better next year. Can they beat Warroad? We'll wait until next year to find out, but for now, Park Rapids has nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about. I picked them to beat Warroad and I was wrong. Good luck to the Warriors. If they win the section, I will root for them at state. If they don't I will root for either EGF or TRF.

well, i don't know where you pulled that out of, but i can promise you i have no nephews, i do have a couple nieces that play hockey, they are 5 and 7, maybe they could go play for PR next year, what do you think? As far as Chris goes, i know who he is, but have no relation to him and as far as his hockey career beyond highschool goes, i have no idea or opinion whatsoever on what happened there.

But anyway, it is obvious you are way off the mark if you are trying to figure out who the great SB is so we should probably get back to the point of this thread....what was it again? oh yeah, predicting the outcome of a game that occured a couple days ago. So whats left to discuss here? the game is over, it went the way everyone knew it would, minus a couple Creampuffers who dreamed otherwise.

You'll have to dig a bit deeper to figure out who SB24 is, good try though

Also, when is a coach not responsible for the play of the team. It is not the player who failed, it is the coaching. What could Lehrke have done with some coaching???

If you want another opinion of the coaching, order a transcript of the hockey game, from Warroad Radio Station. The only system visable to them was the one player system, which obviously does not work. The PR coach sited speed as his advantage. Where was the speed. Obviously the talent of warroad far outweighed the speed of park.

But!, according to YOUUUU, Warroad had just as much speed on the ice. Remember? And you know it all, so I'm going to stick with your evaluation, SB. Warroad's talent outweighed PR's, and it showed, coaching had not 1 damn thing to do with it. I told you before, PR could have an NHL head coach and that wouldn't change the talent difference between the 2 teams. 6-7 years ago this game would have been 9 or 10-0...instead of 4-0. In 1998, when I was playing, we lost 11-0 to Section Champion EGF, our first year in 8A, and 1st time ever playing somebody worth a crap. PR is moving in the right direction even though they don't have very good #'s at the youth level. They've come miles from where they were when I was playing. Wake up and realize that.

Did I ever say PR would never be a contender? I don't believe so. You and the rest of the PR dreamers were telling us all year that this was PR's year and that they would win the section. Like i said all year, that is BS.

So with dwindling youth numbers, is there a strategy in place to elevate the Varsity level of play? I don't follow much youth hockey, so i don't know how the numbers are other than what you speak of, but the way it usually goes is if there are very small numbers for the youth program the HS program will suffer through those times.

I picked PR because I'm from there...a Homer pick, how many times do I have to say that? PR has always had small #'s in the youth program, they do good with what they have. It's hard to put any kind of strategy in place other than to tell your friends and recruit them to play hockey at a young age and build the #'s. That's about the only strategy you could put in place to improve it, and it has nothing to do with the Head Coach and his systems.

i think you need to calm down a bit there Schwang. I asked you an honest question, i wasn't tearing anybody down. Maybe your pick was a homer pick, but the rest of your clan cannot claim the same.

But if you still want to talk coaches, the real good coach will find a way to make his teams competitive. Look at any top team in the state from one year to the next, the systems all change according to the players they have. The teams that go up and down all the time are the ones that use the same systems, year in and year out.

Now stay calm, reply if you must, but this horse has been beaten beyond recognition by now. The game has been forcasted, played, and thoroughly discussed, i think its time to move on. Peace...

He's going to the USHL and then there is a high probability he's going to play D-1 hockey. 'Nuff said. He would be no further along than that anywhere else or with a different coach and NEITHER WOULD ANYBODY ELSE THAT WAS NAMED IN THIS THREAD that has come through PR.

To those talking about Chris Knapp here is his story. He moved to PR from Bemidji as a Squirt I believe. He was terrible when he got here and got his boots knocked around for quite a few years before he ever improved. He got to the level he was at because he worked his tail end off in Pee Wees and Bantams and became a completely different player once he got to High School and played on a line with Darin Hafner. I've skated with him thousands of times, partied with him a few times in recent years, and if he were here he'd have not 1 bad thing to say about PR, I can guarantee it. He made a personal choice to go to Warroad to because he had a better chance to achieve team accomplishments and have a chance to play for a State Title. Nothing more.

I am plenty calm, SB. I just have to reiterate myself because you mix things up all the time. Look at any top team in the state and their youth programs are stocked with a wide variety of players and they do well and compete at Regions and at State and they have year round ice. PR has never made it to state at any level in hockey and the #'s are pretty low. How do you build on that? It's rather tough in PR because there isn't year round ice here. What we did when I was in HS is we had dry land workouts with the Captains in the Summers and we rented ice and skated 4-5 times a month at the Curling Rink in Bemidji. PR isn't an area where you can build alot through hockey because you have no ice 6-7 months out of the year. The HS team can rent ice, but the only time the Youth level teams skate is during the hockey season. It's pretty hard to build a State Tourney level program with these kind of obstructions and low #'s. This is what I've been trying to say this whole time. You really shouldn't run your mouth when it comes to making statements about PR until you know what's really going on. Since you're the genius, why don't you offer me some opinions on how PR can improve their program even more than they have with low #'s and no ice half the year. They've already come thousands of miles from 10 years ago, that's what you need to understand.
