That is pretty close to the dumbest thing a person could do to support their team. I'm sorry but the truth hurts sometimes. Wow.

No, they haven't. The best teams they've beaten are WBL, Stillwater, and Roseville. They did have a strong win over Duluth Marshall, but I'm not sure how well they compare this year.

Most of their losses were to good (but not great) teams and at least reasonably close...Woodbury twice (once in OT), WBL, Benilde twice, and STA. The Breck game was not close, but then, in an interesting coincidence, East lost to Breck too.

First off all, who in your opinion is better than Cooper? Secondly, I am in no way, shape or form an East fan. I was looking for a picture of East Hockey, and this is about all I could find. Some people.

Who is the best?
I know none of the Class A goalies are.
Harper? Walsh? Ford? I'm not seeing it.

oh your asking who is... i believe harper is definitly more consistant and doesn't give up the easy ones... cooper gave up 2 on 10 shots in the section final

x2.... Cooper in my opinion is soooo inconsistent and his D is so good its obvious how he got the nembers he did.... IMO east has NEVER had a good goalie since the 90's UNTIL they had ben leis.. He was a brick wall.. every other kid they have had in nets has just been made of $$$$ ledingham?? sucked , kolquist ehhh , coole , he was good but the rest .. nothing

Yeah Jake Maida was terrible. All those state tourneys and everything... Kolquist too, what kind of a loser gives up the game winner in 5 OT. He was dog. Give me a break man East has had fine goaltending... Unless they cheated to get back to back 3rd place finishes in 03 and 04. Also, Kolquist WAS in the 1990's, get your facts straight. I should know he's my dentist haha. I agree Coop does give up one goal on like ten shots, its his siggy. Overall though I think he has played well and stepped up when needed for the most part. Matt is a great kid and I trust him to step it up in two days.

Cooper hasnt been tested tremendously but made some very big saves vs Forest Lake and had a couple of testers that he looked strong on against Elk River. He is capable of getting on a very good streak. Good Luck to the Hounds.

You missed my point... im not saying east goalies were bottom of the barrel by any means but nowhere near the quality of the rest of the team .. maida had his games and so did kolquist.... but if east were to have not lost there top players over the past few years ( like every other big name player to each his own team in the state ) there would have been a much better torney than what we have seen the past few years..

As far as goaltending goes is there anyone that will disagree that leis was by far the best goialie east has had since "90.... since that is as far back as i can remember the team

The thing about Cooper is that he really wants to win, and he has the skills to raise his game to whatever level is needed to reach his goal of winning. We haven't seen his best yet, but I think we will this week. Same could be said of the entire East team - Edina will be so, so tough, but I'm calling East the darkhorse. Giddyup...

Call it a gut feeling...

can you say chris Sall???? Best goalie. Somebody remind me of the saves he made at State in "95 against the Moorhead Spuds? Leis couldn't win a big game when it counted.

Sall played 2005 the last time east went to state, not 95. He had 40+ saves in the first game against white bear and 50+ in the semis against a staked Moorhead featuring four or five D1 recruits. Sall wasn't the best East has had in a while, Leis is. Sall had a decent season that year and got hot in the play offs riding it into state, East just couldn't compete with Moorhead, but Sall did keep the game close

How did this topic go from discussing the East-CDH game to discussing the best East goalie of all time??? Let's get back to the topic.

Besides, the answer is a five-way tie between Geoff Jordan, Mike Cortes, Walt Aufderheide, Wade Salzman and Clark Coole. Image
