Cake eaters suck balls
Oh please....like B'Ville wouldn't have been screaming "Season's Over" or "Overrated" the first chance they got if they had won.
A "sieve" chant after a goal? This isn't Russia. Is this Russia?
If you want to talk about a lack of class, how about the Minnetonka students constantly chanting "F Edina" all game long? How no administrators stopped that was beyond me.
I thought Burnsville's students for the most part were pretty classy. Good natured high school student section. You'll always have a bit of ribbing, but that's the fun of it. Kudos to B'Ville. Cheered with class, played with class, and accepted defeat with class.
Minnetonka? Not so much.

Talk about supporting your team! The Bville kids filled up two complete sections and stuck the band in a 3rd. What great school spirit to get that kind of a turn out.
Game: EDINA over Bville

I sat in the Mtka section during the second game. Most of the people in that area were cheering for Bville. I didn't hear anyone in our area using bad language. I thought I heard the kids to our left, Bville, cheer "f the hornets!" Honestly, I could only make out 55% of what the students were cheering about. Did I hear that one correctly? Since when did kids start using the f word in cheers? That's 100% lame, regardless of what school their from.

I think Rusty is Everson, his dad is also Marshall but his nickname is Rusty.

I have a few comments to make on last night's game. If you want to respond or correct me feel free.
First off that was indeed Gleason that took the puck out in front of the net, and almost cost them a goal (which it actually did). I have 3 complaints about the refs, one is that halfway thorugh the third period burnsville got called for icing on a pay which obviously wasn't. The refs somehow thought that the faceoff should be in Edina's zone. I cant believe that refs in that big of a game dont know that that faceoff should be at center ice. Second I would like to say that that trip that cost Edina it's third goal was indeed a trip, and it was right in front of the ref. Lastly sometime in the second period Bville had a 2 on 2 in the neutral zone. One guy made a pass across the ice to a guy who could have had a breakaway. I couldn't really see but it looked like the puck hit the refs skate and deflected back, that's what I thought I saw and that's what the people next to me saw. I think that a cross ice pass is plenty time for the ref to move out of the way. For the game all I've got to say was it was back and forth all night. I thought Edina outplayed them overall just slightly. About the cheering, I do not think that Edina is that bad. I know this has been said but other schools do much worse to them. Does anyone know what the bville fans were doing when they all gathered around eachother before overtime?
Lastly I want to talk about ot. It really showed that Edina was much more conditioned that bville. The puck was in the bville zone about 80 percent of the time. It just shows how those extra herbies can make or break your season. Although Edina dominated in ot, there was one shot in ot taken by bville from the point that got deflected and went about an inch wide of the net. Thats how close it was. Anyways congrats to both teams and good luck to edina in state.

I hate to say it, but it does seem the cake eaters are getting a raw deal here. Their team won an OT thriller against my boys and i know our student section would have been just as harsh. The sieve thing may have been a little bit far, but knowing us wed have not only done the chant... but repeated it several times. I'm not saying we're classless or a poor student section either, just a bunch of fans who love to support our team and get a little rowdy doing it. The student sections from both schools made the atmosphere electric and brought the game to another level. My hats off to Edina on their win, but man do i hate deja vu.

I heard it was suppossed to resemble a prayer session. Kinda creative I guess. Sure showed how many of them there were we then would huddle up and then fan back out.

"The refs somehow thought that the faceoff should be in Edina's zone. I cant believe that refs in that big of a game dont know that that faceoff should be at center ice." The refs did know about it; you just didn't know about the rule change this year.
When an icing is improperly called the face-off used to be at center ice. Now it's in the zone of where the play should have continued. The linesman put the ice on and the front ref blew it down. The back ref, correctly, saw the puck being touched by the Edina player. He tried to wave of the ice but the whistle blew. You can't penalize Bville with a neutral ice or defensive f zone face-off. So the face-off was in Edina's zone. It was done by the book.

I cannot say enough about how much i enjoyed watching this game. It was in my view a great game. It seemed like the teams were getting tired towards the end but it didnt even matter cause i was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. There was alot of good talent out on the ice all around just fun to watch. Thank you Edina and Burnsville players for a great show last night.

Don't forget the offsides on BV's goal to tie it at 2-2. From the other end of the rink it looked like a great play, but a friend saw the play up close and said BV was offsides by a lot.
Also someone said Gleason was on the point for the PP's. In the 2nd it was Baker at the point for the PP, putting those bombs on net.

Wait..why did Anders get a penalty shot?

Same friend questioned the penalty shot. He thought it was an iffy call at best. He thought that Lee was coming in too fast and wasn't really bothered by slash to the skate? But back to the offsides, a little more than a minute and after getting controlled most of the period you go to the locker room tied. Missing the offsides is huge. Like I said I didn't see it, but was told it was offsides by a lot. Maybe the PS was a makeup call?
BTW, friend was sitting in the BV section.

Take a look at the video on myfoxhockey.com. It was closer than your friend remembered. Looking at it in slow motion it appears to be really close- probably off. Now imagine watching it in real time...I wouldn't want to be making that call.
