East and Cloquet aren't having their best years so I think this will be a pretty even matchup and a good game

2 losses constitutes not having their best years!!!! You evidently didn't see the East losses to top 10 teams, East played right with both teams and lost close ones, I don't believe everyone thinks they are having a bad year! I don't know who Cloquet has played, except they lost a game to some bad team in Minneaplis. Don't assume anything after 4 games, that's just dumb quit reading the other dumb assumptions and watch them play before you commentbutterball5 wrote:East and Cloquet aren't having their best years so I think this will be a pretty even matchup and a good game
I recall an East team not too long ago starting the season 3-8-4; they turned it around, winning 11 of their next 13 games and ended up down in St. Paul. So a 2-2 start obviously doesn't concern me. Even if they lost to Cloquet on Thursday and then Moorhead on Saturday, they'll be 2-4 against some pretty darn good competition.ColdasIce wrote:2 losses constitutes not having their best years!!!! Not true at all. When Grand Rapids went to Edina two years ago and lost very close games with Edina and Eden Prairie...those were good loses. It gave the team confidence and they ended up in a state title game.JV_allstar wrote:If you've ever played hockey you'd know that there is no such thing as a "good loss". a loss is a loss.
I'm gonna say cloquet 4-2 with and open-netter
WEBC The FAN 560 AM will have the game on the radio and their webcast is available here: http://www.fan560.com/main.phpLumberjack wrote:Got to stay true to my roots here.

A goalie of Ben Leis's ability is hard to come by for any team...East had a nice situation the past 2 years with Ben between the pipes...but the new goalies will gain experience in time. I expect East to bounce back and win their re-match with Cloquet later this year.karl(east) wrote:Once again, East outshoots an opponent by a lot...and loses. It's a trend I'm not liking much at all. They could have had more too, probably; I was getting frustrated with how long they were holding the puck, passing back and forth from point to point, at times. I'll give a lot of credit to Aaron Baker and the Cloquet D for keeping the Greyhounds down. Jokinen, meanwhile, put the Jacks' offense on his shoulders and displayed an ability to bury the puck that no current East players seem to have. That was probably the difference in this game.
Good god boblee, good "loses"? You never talked like that when you lived in Rapids! Here's a shot of boblee and his dormates. (he's the "ball")boblee wrote:Not true at all. How come you chose East in the pick-em?...boblee wrote:I said 4-3 CEC. Not far off. Nice bunch up there under Dave Esse.

That's considered whining??? I believe you are confusing explanations with excuses.artifactually153 wrote:everytime east loses...there's the whiners with excuseskarl(east) wrote:Once again, East outshoots an opponent by a lot...and loses. Well, yeah. Everyone knows we whine better than that when it's actually time to whine.formerly7aafan wrote:That's considered whining???
